JOB OBJECTIVE

Product Owner collaborates with the system engineering, DevOps, Integration and Test, quality, configuration management teams and customer to deliver outstanding IT Infrastructure products and services.

This is an hybrid position where the job holder will have the opportunity to:
  • represent the voice of the customer
  • define the roadmap of the IT Infrastructure system
  • partner with the work package manager and system engineer manager to foster a result oriented culture
  • participate in the specification, development, integration and testing of the system
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for:
  • reporting performance metrics of the team and progress on the roadmap
  • making sure the team is making the right things by defining the short term objectives and visibility on long term planning, with the support of the system engineer manager
  • leverage on team stakeholders across the organization to provide necessary support to the team and maximize performance
  • constantly looking for improvement in processes and tools, and support the implementation of these improvements
  • Activities:
  • Animate Agile ceremonies (Sprint planning & Review, Daily, Retrospective)
  • Deploy all necessary tools, define business metrics and KPIs to monitor team progress
  • Work with system engineers to define system requirements, user stories and epics
  • Support team members in Agile methodologies and in the use of JIRA tools
  • Identify and prioritize tasks for sprint planning
  • Contribute to system implementation by developing Ansible playbooks, Python and shell scripts
  • Prepare training materials and conduct training to peers and customers
  • Participate in internal and customer technical meetings
  • Configuration of the Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment tools
  • Peer review of requirements, specifications, test procedures and manuals (user, administration, maintenance)
  • Technologies
  • Linux: Debian, RedHat
  • Virtualization/Container: VMware, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Database: PostgreSQL, MariaDB
  • Network: Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent, Fortinet
  • CI/CD tools: Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience working with agile development teams
  • Experience with product development and a technical background, either as a software engineer or in a previous technical role
  • Working experience in the following domains: server, storage, virtualization, network
  • Very proficient in
  • Linux administration,
  • Virtualization & container administration (VMware, Docker)
  • Network configuration
  • Work experience in Defence projects or critical infrastructure is preferred (3-5 years)
  • Experience in Thales methods and process is an advantage
QUALIFICATION, CERTIFICATION & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • BSc in computer science or equivalent qualification
  • Qualifications in IT Infrastructure subsystems (network, communication, datacenter, virtualization, software integration, etc.)
  • Preferred certifications in Agile methodologies
  • Must have high fluency in spoken and written English
  • English French and/or Arabic would be an added advantage
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Excellent communication, relationship building and storytelling skills, communicating concepts and ideas in different formats
  • Able to work in a multi-disciplined technology environment
  • Working with data and insights to understand and measure team work.
