Summary:
Responsible for owning and supporting the end-to-end development of kits and color product development, from trend identification and concept creation to formula development, cross-functional alignment, and supplier communication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
:
Understand key trends and translate them into strong beauty concepts.
Stay up to date of the competitive environment & track launches.
Help fuel PD calendar by proposing innovative product concepts with a focus on color.
Create aesthetic product mood boards aligned with current projects or to inspire new product ideas and concepts.
Have a feel & excitement for textures & a good eye for colors.
Manage end-to-end development trackers; from conception to production.
Create strong & detailed product briefs to be sent to suppliers including innovative ingredients & target claims .
Assist Manager in the evaluation & approval of textures for color projects.
Manage PD formula standards & dispatch to relevant internal and external partners.
Becoming the project lead for dedicated color programs with guidance & assistance of manager.
Communicate texture & shade direction changes to suppliers through daily follow up emails or calls.
Re-direct submissions until desired attributes and performance is achieved.
Build strong supplier relationships.
Must be able to communicate effectively with key stakeholders.
Work cross-functionally and internationally to drive ideas from conception to execution, partnering with the PD operations, Product & Brand Marketing teams.
Provide all artwork information (INCI, Claims results...) and their translations for primary and secondary packaging to Design Lead for artwork briefing in time for artwork due dates.
Assist in meeting preparation, including agendas and action item follow-up.
Travel required to meet suppliers, execute onsite formula approvals with manager's guidance.
Requirements
Must have mininum 3 years' experience in product development/makeup artistry.
Solid understanding of formulation basics and ability to assess textures, finishes,sensorial performance and shade payoffs critically.
Able to work in fast paced environment.
Attention to detail while managing multiple projects.
Solutions-oriented and adaptable to fast-changing projects.
Strong project management mindset with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple launches and changes quickly.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, able to seek answers independently.
Be a make-up lover!
Must be tech savvy and be able to create nice presentations slides according to brand DNA.
Must have experience in communicating with many different nationalities.
Strong research skills.
Adaptable and flexible team player, conscious of team dynamics, open to quick change.
Passion for and knowledge of the beauty industry - brands, products, bloggers, and influencers.
Skills using Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint bonus if have skills in Adobe Photoshop, Canva AI platorms for data extraction, trend forecast platforms.
Makeup artistry experience (make up assistant or retail floor) would be an extra benefit, but is not a must.
