Position Overview: As a Procurement Specialist in a fast food company, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage the procurement process for sourcing, purchasing, and delivering goods and services required for the company\'s operations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the availability of high-quality ingredients, equipment, packaging materials, and other supplies necessary for the efficient and smooth functioning of the fast food chain.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective procurement strategies aligned with the company\'s goals and objectives. Identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate favorable terms with suppliers, and maintain a reliable supply chain network.
Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Evaluate and select potential suppliers based on their ability to meet quality standards, delivery schedules, and cost requirements. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and address any issues or concerns.
Purchase Order Processing: Review purchase requests from various departments, assess specifications and requirements, and create purchase orders. Ensure accurate and timely processing of orders while adhering to budgetary constraints and company policies.
Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and service level agreements. Regularly review and update contracts to optimize value and minimize risks.
Inventory Management: Collaborate with inventory management teams to maintain optimal inventory levels. Monitor stock levels, track usage patterns, and forecast demand to prevent shortages or excesses. Implement inventory control measures to reduce waste and minimize costs.
Quality Control: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain high-quality standards for all procured items. Conduct periodic quality checks, address quality-related issues, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards.
Cost Analysis and Reporting: Analyze procurement costs, track spending, and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality. Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review.
Market Research: Stay updated on market trends, new product developments, and industry innovations. Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, source alternative products, and explore cost-effective procurement options.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor\'s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. A relevant master\'s degree is a plus.
Proven experience as a procurement specialist or in a similar procurement role within the food industry, preferably in fast food or restaurant chains.
Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
Familiarity with food safety standards, quality assurance, and inventory management.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze data, interpret financial information, and make informed decisions.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
