Job Description

The Procurement Officer - Technical is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process for all technical materials, equipment, tools, and maintenance-related services required to support the private engineering office and estate operations. The role ensures quality sourcing, cost-effective purchasing, vendor coordination, and timely delivery of technical goods and services--covering electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, Civil, Projects and general facility systems--while adhering to UAE procurement regulations and the estate's standards for safety, reliability, and operational excellence.

JOB LOCATION: FUJAIRAH, UAE



QUALIFICATIONS:



Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related technical field. Certification in Procurement and Supply Chain (e.g., CIPS Level 2 or higher) preferred. Technical Procurement or Engineering Materials Handling certification is an advantage. Valid UAE Driving License (required for market and supplier visits). Knowledge of UAE safety, facility management, and quality standards for technical goods.

EXPERIENCE:



2-4 years of experience in technical or engineering procurement, preferably within maintenance, facilities management, or construction environments. Proven experience sourcing technical equipment, tools, spare parts, and maintenance-related services. Familiarity with local and international suppliers and import procedures for technical materials.

KEY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:



Technical Product Knowledge



Strong understanding of:

Electrical materials: cables, circuit breakers, switches, lighting fixtures, panels, and fittings. Mechanical & plumbing items: pumps, valves, pipes, fittings, seals, motors, bearings, and compressors. HVAC supplies: filters, thermostats, refrigerants, ducts, and air-conditioning components. Tools & consumables: hand tools, power tools, fasteners, lubricants, and safety equipment (PPE). General maintenance materials: building hardware, paints, adhesives, sealants, and cleaning products.

Procurement & Process Management



Issue RFQs, prepare LPOs, and track deliveries. Conduct market research to identify reliable and cost-effective suppliers. Manage urgent or emergency procurement requirements (e.g., replacement parts or breakdown repairs).

Vendor Management



Develop and maintain a database of approved technical suppliers and service providers. Negotiate pricing, warranties, and service agreements to ensure value and reliability. Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely delivery schedules.

Compliance & Documentation



Ensure all purchases meet UAE safety and quality standards. Maintain proper documentation including certificates of conformity, safety data sheets, and warranty records. Keep accurate and up-to-date procurement files and reports.

Systems & Reporting



Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) and ERP/procurement systems. Prepare procurement summaries, cost analysis reports, and supplier evaluations.

Coordination & Communication



Work closely with engineers, maintenance supervisors, and logistics teams to understand technical needs. Communicate effectively with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
