Position Overview
DP World's P&O Maritime Logistics is seeking a Procurement Officer to manage procurement activities for vessel and ship management operations. The role focuses on cost-effective purchasing, supplier management, and ensuring timely logistics support to prevent operational delays.

What You'll Do

• Manage procurement activities for vessels and ship management operations
• Oversee requisitions, RFQs, purchase orders, deliveries, and communication with stakeholders
• Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality services
• Analyze quotations, prepare comparisons, and recommend supplier selections
• Ensure timely procurement of spares, consumables, and services to avoid operational delays
• Negotiate supply agreements for urgent orders and maintain contingency suppliers
• Coordinate overseas purchases, logistics, customs clearance, and delivery to vessels
• Develop supplier networks to reduce costs and improve quality
• Monitor vendor performance and propose sourcing strategies to management
• Support finance with invoice reconciliations and procurement records
• Collaborate with Operations, Technical, and Crewing teams to forecast procurement needs
• Maintain supplier prequalification records and open accounts for approved vendors

Ideal Profile

• Diploma or bachelor's degree, preferably in Mechanical or Marine Engineering
• 3-5 years of procurement experience in the maritime industry or similar field
• Knowledge of regional clearing and forwarding processes in Middle East and Africa
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, supply chain management tools, and ERP software (Oracle Fusion preferred)
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication abilities
• Able to work effectively in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
