Job Title: Procurement Officer - Construction Industry
Job Summary:
The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing construction materials, equipment, and services. The role ensures that all project requirements are met on time, within budget, and in accordance with company standards and UAE regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Purchasing & Sourcing
Identify reliable suppliers for construction materials, tools, machinery, and subcontracted services.
Obtain competitive quotations and prepare comparison sheets.
Evaluate supplier performance based on price, quality, delivery, and reliability.
Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships.
2. Negotiation & Contracts
Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service agreements.
Prepare purchase orders (POs) and ensure compliance with company procurement policies.
Review and assist in drafting supply contracts and agreements.
3. Materials Management
Ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites.
Coordinate with project engineers, site supervisors, and warehouse teams for stock updates.
Monitor inventory levels and avoid delays due to material shortages.
Maintain accurate records for all incoming and outgoing materials.
4. Cost Control & Documentation
Track procurement budgets and help reduce costs where possible.
Maintain proper documentation such as POs, delivery notes, invoices, supplier contracts, and logs.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and UAE regulations.
5. Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with internal departments (Projects, Finance, Warehouse) for planning and approvals.
Provide regular reports on procurement status, supplier performance, and cost savings.
Resolve any issues related to delays, shortages, or quality concerns.
Requirements:Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
2-5 years of procurement experience in the construction industry in UAE (preferred).
Strong knowledge of construction materials and vendors in the UAE market.
Skills
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Strong understanding of procurement processes and documentation.
Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/Procurement systems.
Good analytical and cost-management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
