To handle procurement activities related to construction materials, equipment. Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement in line with project schedules, quality standards, and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and analyze material requests (MRs) from site engineers or project managers.
Identify reliable suppliers and vendors for construction-related items.
Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate terms with suppliers.
Prepare purchase orders (POs) and ensure proper approvals are in place.
Track and follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery to construction sites.
Maintain accurate procurement records, including supplier database and price history.
Coordinate with stores and logistics for receiving and inspecting materials.
Assist in tendering processes for subcontracted works or bulk purchases.
Evaluate supplier performance regarding quality, delivery, and service.
Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and contract terms.
Resolve issues related to delays, damages, or price discrepancies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Procurement, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
2-5 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably in construction or contracting companies.
Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of construction materials and equipment
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
Familiarity with procurement software or ERP systems
Good organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
