What you\'ll be doing

The Strategic Procurement Buyer is responsible for creating and driving strategic sourcing for a group of spend categories within the Chalhoub Group and its Joint Venture affiliates. A Strategic business partner, interfacing at the Executive Committee level of the company, with the ability to understand stakeholder needs and drive results. Collaboration with multiple Business Units to secure optimal purchasing opportunities is critical to the success of this role. Provide expertise to business leaders in planning and implementing Procurement strategies, to achieve business goals and objectives. This position is also responsible for putting together a centralized procurement team, with emphasis on category management capabilities. There is a need to identify and implement a Procurement Control Tower system at group level, creating end-to-end\xe2\x80\x9d visibility on purchase activity and data, ensuring robust levels of control are in place, whilst minimizing risks to e\xef\xac\x80ectively manage spend. Continuous improvement of procurement processes throughout the Chalhoub Group are to be practiced.

Key Responsibilities

Lead creation and implementation of sourcing and demand management strategies for assigned categories of spend, manage the development of RFP materials, detailed analysis of proposals and vendor capabilities, negotiations and supplier selection as well as perform player/coach for sta\xef\xac\x80 to produce the same results for their respective areas. Leverage key metrics to identify problem areas and adopt current and emerging business models with an entrepreneurial mindset and creative approach to drive best practice.

Lead and coach a team responsible to strategically partner with business unit leaders and contribute to brand strategy by providing procurement expertise and strategic partnering for purchasing opportunities. Counsel business unit leaders regarding purchasing processes, technology capabilities and policies to assist in the procurement lifecycle.

Build and manage relationships with priority business executives, serves as a key member of the business unit leadership team to support implementation of business strategies through advanced procurement initiatives and team alignment. Facilitate the entire sourcing process and closely collaborate with the stakeholders to select and award business to suppliers. Demonstrates a strategic business mindset, organizational savvy, presents an executive-level presence, and balances multiple stakeholder interests simultaneously.

Create, drive and mentor sta\xef\xac\x80 in long-term strategic planning e\xef\xac\x80orts for assigned sourcing categories including advanced multi-year category strategies designed to anticipate enterprise-wide requirements while optimizing forecasted shifts in both supply markets, industry trends and supplier economic cycles.

Lead the development and negotiation of contracts with new suppliers and/or renegotiate existing contracts to accomplish lowest total system cost and savings objectives as well as perform player/coach for sta\xef\xac\x80 to produce the same results for their respective areas

What you\'ll need to succeed

A Bachelor\'s degree in Supply Chain or any equivalent principle

3+ Years\' experience in handling Technology Category Procurement in a matrix organization

3+ Years\' experience in Sourcing, Tendering, Procurement and Implementation of solutions in the technology category

Exceptional negotiation skills
