About the Opportunity:
Robust infrastructure establishes the backbone of productive, economically strong communities as assets essential to commerce, trade, public safety and quality of life. Jacobs have an opportunity in Abu Dhabi for a seasoned Procurement Manager to manage all the pre and post tender document preparation, analysis, assessment and reporting of all procurement functions for the major packages.
We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environments and who have exceptional communication, analytical and leadership skills. Responsibilities include:
  • Proven experience in the review, management, and implementation of the procurement process for large project/programmes
  • Preparing all documents associated with Pre-qualification, Invitation to Tender, Request for Proposals and Tender Issuance.
  • Oversees all procurement functions including purchasing, expediting, supplier data control, quality, and traffic
  • Provides management and direction for all procurement functions on a large domestic or international project, including purchasing, expediting, supplier data control, supplier quality, and traffic.
  • Preparation and production of tender documentation including all necessary client reports, documentation, all appendices, annexes and tender addenda
  • Manage the Consultants who shall prepare full Bills of Quantities in accordance with the agreed method of measurement and for incorporation within the Contract Documents
  • Review, amend as necessary Instructions to Tenderers, Forms of Tender, Tender Documents, Conditions of Contract, and form of contracts to ensure compatibility with Specific Project’s Brief and Contracts templates
  • Manage the tender process including issue, query administration, tender submission and ensure full tender governance is maintained
  • Management of the evaluation of submitted tenders, commercial analysis and preparation of recommendation report
  • Contract preparation
  • Assistance with the development of Procurement Strategies and template documentation
Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Have at least 12 years of experience
  • Experience in all phases of procurement activities on large global engineering and construction projects
  • Have proven experience working within a consultative environment and working on major construction development projects
  • You will have a strong background in contract negotiating skills, claims and settlements with a sound understanding of project accounting principles, project reviews, estimating, risk assessment and integrated Project Management.
  • Be degree qualified, ideally in Quantity Surveying or in a Procurement related discipline
  • Be RICS qualified
  • Be able to reside in Abu Dhabi. Please note that commuting from other Emirates is not something that would be considered \
