Procurement Manager Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Grade: GG12 JOB PURPOSE An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Saudi Maintenance and Supply Chain Management Company (SMSCMC). SMSCMC was created as a Saudi Arabian joint venture company co-owned by BAE Systems and local shareholders to deliver KSA industrialisation of supply chain management and thereby support Saudi Vision 2030. The successful candidate will assume Procurement responsibility associated with SMSCMC's role for the Salam Support Programme. In performing this role the successful candidate will be able to manage key relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders from within BAE Systems Saudi Arabia, BAE Air Sector and the international supply chain. The role offers a great opportunity to play a key role in enacting and delivering the strategic intent for BAE Systems, SMSCMC and for Saudi Arabia. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Produce a full range of contractual documentation for Procurement areas in line with all relevant SMSCMC requirements and procedures. To draft agreements, liaise with the Legal Function and participate in and support others in supplier negotiations with all relevant parties to facilitate the smooth and successful conclusion of negotiations. Manage standard contract and contract activities effectively, ensuring the swift and effective resolution of issues. Assist in the development, co-ordination and implementation of overall financial targets and budgetary management strategies in assigned areas. Contribute to building, managing and maintaining relationships with existing and future suppliers to ensure the effective management of business agreements and contracts from the cradle to the grave. Provide advice and guidance on procurement, contractual and legal issues to facilitate effective business decision-making and the effective resolution of issues and disputes, including customer complaints in liaison with Legal Function where necessary. Monitor all relevant procurement activities - including terms and conditions and price negotiations - to ensure that quality and cost are maintained to enable contractual obligations to be met. Lead, develop and motivate staff to ensure they are aware of and capable of delivering their responsibilities. Contribute to developing and maintaining procurement procedures and policies, and implement them in assigned standard areas to support improved business effectiveness. Manage all Supplier contracts and work with the procurement team with respect of key Partners contracts (Purchase contracts) ensuring procurement management activities are performed in accordance with the contractual scope of work and other contractual requirements, with adherence to the gated process review cycle guidelines and mandates Support the contract launch activities, setting and releasing of budgets / targets, supporting the procurement team with the supply chain activity. Manage the delivery of procurement reports and briefs along with inputs to Contract Status Reviews (CSRs), project reporting, and supplier performance metrics Providing an innovative approach to ensuring appropriate flow down of commercial/contract terms to supply base ensuring a balance between cost and risk Manage / Support contract/subcontract negotiations with all relevant parties to facilitate the smooth and successful conclusion of negotiations. Ensure strategic engagement and alignment with key suppliers and entities across the BAE Systems Group; RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Degree or equivalent vocational qualification preferable with extensive experience within a Procurement position. Extensive knowledge of business unit policies used by SMSCMC or by its parent company BAE Systems (or a comparable equivalent). Extensive knowledge in the application and use of ERP systems, in particular SAP and IFS Experience of capturing and presenting Supplier Measurement and Performance data. The ability to work alongside and to draft and negotiate agreements with external vendors to conclusion. The ability to work across functional areas with multiple internal and external stakeholders in Bid Management and Contract Delivery is essential. Track record of contributing to the management of complex business issues. Wide ranging experience of dealing with suppliers in the UK, KSA and overseas.
