is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the stock of materials and products required for business operations. This role ensures timely procurement, optimal inventory levels, accurate recordkeeping, and cost-effective purchasing strategies while maintaining supplier relationships and supporting internal departments.
Key Responsibilities: Procurement:
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for goods and services based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
Prepare and process purchase orders in line with company policies and procedures.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery delays, quality, or pricing discrepancies.
Maintain an updated supplier database and ensure all procurement documentation is complete and accurate.
Coordinate with the finance department to ensure timely payments and resolve invoice discrepancies.
Analyze purchasing trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Inventory Control:
Monitor stock levels and ensure sufficient inventory is available for operational needs.
Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock checks, audits, and reconciliations.
Coordinate inventory movement (inbound and outbound) across departments and warehouses.
Implement inventory control procedures to minimize losses, expiry, and wastage.
Generate inventory reports, usage forecasts, and reorder levels to ensure continuous stock availability.
Identify slow-moving or obsolete items and take corrective actions in coordination with management.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
Proven experience (2-5 years) in procurement and inventory control, preferably in [industry - e.g., manufacturing, hospitality, FMCG].
Strong knowledge of purchasing principles, inventory systems, and vendor management.
Proficiency in MS Office and inventory/ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Zoho Inventory, etc.).
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
