Job Summary

The Procurement Engineer - MEP is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring MEP materials, equipment, and subcontract services, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, technical compliance, and alignment with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities Procurement Planning & Execution

Develop procurement schedules in line with project programs Source and prequalify MEP suppliers and subcontractors Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs for MEP materials and services

Technical & Commercial Evaluation

Review MEP drawings, specifications, and BOQs for procurement scope Conduct technical and commercial evaluations of vendor offers Prepare comparison sheets and recommend suitable vendors

Vendor & Order Management

Negotiate prices, terms, warranties, and delivery schedules Prepare purchase orders and subcontract agreements Monitor vendor performance, approvals, and deliveries

Coordination & Delivery

Coordinate with engineering, planning, and site teams to meet material requirements Track procurement status and resolve supply chain issues Ensure materials comply with approved submittals and standards

Cost Control & Reporting

Monitor procurement budgets and cost savings Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives Prepare procurement status and cost reports

Compliance & Documentation

Ensure procurement activities follow company policies and procedures Maintain procurement records, contracts, and documentation Ensure compliance with HSE, quality, and project requirements

Skills Required

Strong knowledge of MEP systems and materials Excellent negotiation, communication, and coordination skills Strong analytical and commercial awareness Proficiency in MS Office and ERP / procurement systems Ability to manage multiple vendors and deadlines

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Experience

Minimum

3-5 years of experience

in MEP procurement within construction projects UAE / GCC experience preferred
