Role Summary
The Procurement Engineer will be responsible for evaluating material grades, inspecting quality upon delivery, verifying certifications, and coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely procurement of compliant civil materials. The role combines procurement coordination with on-site material inspection and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project and engineering teams to identify civil material requirements based on drawings, specifications, and construction schedules
• Identify, evaluate, and verify material grades and quality for civil materials supplied to construction sites
• Inspect materials upon delivery to ensure compliance with purchase orders, approved submittals, and project specifications
• Review material certifications, test reports, and supporting documentation to confirm compliance with applicable standards
• Identify, document, and report discrepancies, damaged items, or substandard materials and coordinate corrective actions
• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of approved materials to support construction progress
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and suppliers
• Conduct periodic audits of supplier quality systems, processes, and facilities to ensure adherence to quality expectations
• Support continuous improvement in procurement quality control processes

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Material Science, or a related discipline
• Proven experience in procurement, inspection, or quality control of civil materials within UAE construction projects
• Strong knowledge of civil construction materials, grades, testing standards, and certification requirements
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, material submittals, and quality documentation
• Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on compliance, quality, and timely execution
