We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented
Procurement Engineer - Civil & Architectural
to join our construction team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in
civil and architectural materials procurement
, with solid experience in sourcing, vendor management, cost control, and ensuring compliance with technical and project specifications.
The Procurement Engineer will be responsible for
managing end-to-end procurement activities
for civil and architectural packages--ensuring timely availability of materials and services to support smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare material requisitions, request for quotations (RFQs), and compare technical and commercial bids for civil and architectural packages.
Identify, evaluate, and qualify vendors and suppliers based on technical and commercial criteria.
Ensure materials are procured in accordance with project specifications, quality requirements, and within budget.
Coordinate with engineering, project, and site teams to verify material requirements and delivery schedules.
Negotiate with suppliers for favorable terms, lead times, and best value procurement.
Monitor and track procurement schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant local/international procurement regulations.
Maintain procurement logs, supplier databases, and documentation for auditing and reporting.
Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to track shipments and resolve delivery issues.
Support in cost control and value engineering initiatives.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in
Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
.
Minimum
5 years of experience
in procurement, specifically for
civil and architectural construction materials
.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, specifications, and local/international suppliers.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and BOQs.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
Preferred Attributes:
Experience in large-scale infrastructure or building projects in the Middle East.
Familiarity with FIDIC and international procurement standards.
Strong vendor network in the region.
