Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Accountabilities) To analyse, develop and continually improve the HSM Processes through robust root cause analysis and sustainable solution generation. Responsible for ensuring accurate and effective standard operating procedures and quality systems are implemented for smooth operation of the Plant. Provide the process and product technical support to the operational team. Ensure the plant wide operational systems and processes are fully documented, understand and controlled - to include consumables and operational spares. Planning Support the HSM Planning department in all Process / Operation / Safety health & environment / Procurement / Project related area to ensure smooth, safe & efficient operation of the HSM. Budgeting & Cost Control Responsible for preparing and managing accurate annual budgets for the HSM Operating Budget Operation Management To monitor the process parameters analyse and identify the deviations and problems with the equipment's for timely action. To provide daily operating instructions to the staff as communicated by the Manager Monitor the consumables and plan timely availability of materials to the HSM Policies & Procedures Preparation and development of operational procedures to ensure the implementation of operational procedures covering all areas of HSM department so that all relevant plant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled with a smooth, safe & efficient operation Enterprise Resource Planning Actions: Preparation of daily monthly reports and update information in SAP for HSM operational data Preparation of basics of delay analysis, analysing charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports. Project Planning, Execution & controlling: Evaluating feasibility for the execution of required plant projects for review by HSM Manager. Training Analyse training gaps and develop training plans for the HSM Operational team and setting monthly/quarterly goals for same. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities (attributes) required To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Strong IT and Data Analysis and Visualisation skills (SQL/Access, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and basic PC troubleshooting) Knowledge of SAP System Thorough knowledge about functions of all areas of a Sections Rolling Mill activity. Product specifications and quality requirements in the Medium / Heavy Sections range (sheet pile preferred too). Knowledge about operation and maintenance of Section Mills & related problem solving Ability to study and understand engineering drawings. Job-Specific Skills: Thorough knowledge on roll pass design, mill schedules and rolling mill engineering Strong knowledge of Mill Order Scheduling, Optimisation and Pacing. Strong knowledge of re-heat furnaces, thermo-mechanical metallurgical and finishing/despatch processes, International Standards and Requirements. Strong knowledge on steel manufacturing supply chain Strong knowledge of the steel sections commercial and market scene Strong knowledge on computer systems, reports, data analysis & mining. Good knowledge on mill automation Customer Focus & Cost awareness. Minimum Education Qualifications (Must Haves) Any preferred professional training (Nice to have) Degree in Technical/Mechanical/Engineering Professional Experience (Must haves) Previous Experience/exposure Recommendations (Nice to have) 8 to 10 Years' Experience in Operational Engineering/Analysis experience preferably in Heavy Sections Mills Operation and Process Experience Familiar with Projects and Plant Start-ups Must have worked as process engineer at least for 2 years. Key Performance Indicators GOALS: Progress against Objectives & Targets SAFETY: AI & LTI; # Near miss and hazard reports; Incidents; Suggestions; Audit & Accreditation scores; Shop floor observation/coaching. PEOPLE: # Suggestions; Absenteeism; Overtime; Employee Feedback/Morale; $investment/employee. OPERATIONS & ASSETS: Annual OP; Plant OEE; Right-First-Time; Inventory ($-days); Supplier Initiatives; Contribution ($/T); # Improvement Projects; Proactive v reactive maintenance; MTBF. CUSTOMER: Satisfaction indices; OTIF; Complaints & technical response. COSTS: Budget; Detailed Spend Analysis (Cost/T). Key Performance Indicators will be effectively deployed and integrated with teams/employees on a yearly basis.
