Full Description
The successful candidate will be working within Production to support the offshore production assets, particularly in decommissioning scopes. They will provide technical input to decommissioning project and act as Production focal point to engineering for supporting the decommissioning of operational systems. They will be required to identify optimisation opportunities to increase production / reduce costs and improve safety.
Responsibilities
1. Identify through daily communication with Production offshore decommissioning team, any key project issues and prioritise work scope in terms of safety, effectiveness, and production impact. 2. Responsible for identifying equipment / systems which are relevant to decommissioning effort, and producing budgetary cost estimate and schedule. Present proposals to tender board committee. 3. Act as focal point for Change Approval Form (CAF) system with production offshore team for review and approval. Also, assist in CAF prioritisation based on safety and production criticality and allocation of solution owners between Production and Engineering departments. 4. Manage minor CAF scopes from initiation to As-Built closure. 5. Liaise with Production offshore operations team to troubleshoot equipment operating issues and associated production losses, utilising a process modelling approach. 6. Prepare Production Statement of Requirements for Engineering projects. 7. Assist with writing and review of temporary procedures and Standard Operating Procedure\xe2\x80\x99s (SOP\xe2\x80\x99s). 8. Act as Production focal point to Engineering for supporting decommissioning scopes. 9. Identify (using process modelling software) process bottlenecks and propose modifications to increase production. 10. Support Production offshore operations to write / review operating procedures for non-routine operations. 11. Represent Production team in Hazard Identification (HAZID), Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) safety studies organised by Engineering. 12. Take responsibility for process input to Operational Risk Assessment (ORA) system, as well formulating long term solution for ORA closeout. 13. Manage process optimisation studies and progress these into projects. 14. Attend Production Operation\xe2\x80\x99s morning meetings and provide a field update at the Engineering morning meeting. Inform Engineering of any high priority activities that require their support. 15. Incorporate safety concepts from HAZOP and SIL into process design and modification of existing systems. 16. Routinely visit offshore for discussions and scope definition. 17. Provide input for project planning, budgets, schedules, and reports.
Experience
Should have 15+ years process/chemical engineering experience in oil and gas environment with at least 10 years upstream experience.
Experience of all project design phases from conceptual design through to detailed design
Experience of process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS, PIPESIM, Flarenet.
Must have working knowledge and experience of offshore oil and gas industry codes, specifications, and practices.
Experience in any of the following technical areas is desirable:
Gas compression and rotating equipment
Pipeline/riser flow assurance
Produced water management
Process control
Enhanced oil recovery techniques
Separator design
Flare system modelling
Materials and corrosion management
Chemicals Management
Qualifications
Chemical engineer, Mechanical engineer qualified or equivalent
Preferred Chartered/Professional Engineer.
