Job roles and responsibilities description:

Qualifications, Accreditation, Training (Essential): Awarded a 2- or 3-year technical diploma with discipline specific training or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Will have a strong technical background in discipline work and competent in AutoCAD, Microstation, Auto-Lisp programming, Arc GIS, Map sources, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint. Trained in leadership and project execution. Skilled in project discipline leadership.

Technical Competency: Has a strong background in discipline work, and a competent understanding of regulations, codes, standards, and industry standard practices. Well versed in discipline setup, workflow processes, monitoring a team, producing deliverables and project close-outs. Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence. Performs site visits for data gathering from the existing site facilities and as-built studies. Supports checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings. Enables data gathering and the preparation of analyses and geometrical calculations, etc. Shall have expertise working skills on Field/urban plan layout studies for Oil & Gas Gathering, Injection pipeline facilities and associated utility services, Pipelines route selection study, route map, key plan and route alignment drawings/plans for buried & surface laid pipelines, Site location plans and station approach layouts developments, pipeline facilities tie-in studies/schedule drawings, field layout schematics and study diagrams, Routing plans and key plans for surface laid pipelines/inter-field headers, pipeline construction details, route markers/sign boards, Facility Plot Plans and Piping/pipeline general arrangement drawings for pipeline associated facilities, Isometrics and Material take-Ofs, fabrication and sectional details development to facilitate fabrication and construction, test diagrams and overall layouts for conceptual studies.

General Purpose of Role: Lead Discipline Designer providing discipline team supervision by directing project execution activities and discipline deliverable creation for one large or several smaller projects. Completes discipline technical work for projects and supports project CTR's developments/proposals by advising on the project execution strategy to Lead Discipline Engineers.

Business Operations: Supports the business by communicating team resource loading and skill requirements to the Discipline Design Chief. Ensures the project work is covered for vacation and unplanned absences. Mentors/trains and supports the delivery of training. Assists in the employee performance review process. Facilitates coverage of activities when people leave the team. Encourages knowledge of and compliance with requirements and processes. Works to resolve inter-discipline, Vendor, and Customer issues. Ensures discipline technical work and team activities meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.

Project Execution: Knows the project and owns the discipline scope/cost/time requirements, makes certain the team meets expectations, and coordinates with other disciplines to ensure project success. Drives innovative solutions, technology advances, and methods to effectively deal with working out of sequence. Plans discipline quality, monitors quality activities, drives and participates in squad checking, recommends improvements, and acts where required. Supports for the discipline works with Team to take corrective actions regarding any issues, scope changes, progressing.

Site Support: May create plans or documents that supports construction and seeks input from knowledgeable sources and participates in constructability, operability, and maintainability reviews, and ensures that requirements are incorporated into design.
