Working as a core member of our team in Qatar, the
Principal Maritime Surveyor
will undertake Marine Warranty Surveys (MWS), condition surveys, and oversee rig movements for our clients in the Oil and Gas sector across the region.
What will you be doing?
Undertake surveys and inspections on ships such as PSVs, AHTSs, construction vessels, and more.
Plan and manage the execution of projects including scope, deliverables and schedule manpower resources.
Continuously oversee progress and deliverables for projects and ensure that they meet the standards set by the client.
Conduct business development and marketing activities including the promotion of services with local and international clients.
Maintain and develop new and existing clients through appropriate proposition and relevant liaison to ensure quality of service and client satisfaction.
Prepare tenders and proposals for work with new and existing clients.
Assist with the training and development of ABL Group staff in Qatar.
Ensure all operations, deliverables and quality of reports are in accordance with approved instructions, and ABL Group procedures and policies.
What are we looking for?
Ideally, you will be a qualified Master Mariner (STCW III/2) or Chief Engineer (STCW III/3) with proven experience of working within a consultancy environment. More specifically, we are looking for the following:
8 - 10 years' worth of relevant industry experience.
Demonstratable working knowledge of industry standards and codes and the ability to apply them.
Hands-on experience with emplacing Jack-up rigs onto jackets without the use of wires and / or anchors (tugs only) is advantageous.
Experience of undertaking MWS rig moves, working with marine insurance companies, and P&I clubs is advantageous.
Experience of working in Qatar is beneficial.

This position will be based at our office in Doha, Qatar. You must have the right to live and work in Qatar.
Due to the nature of this position, you must be able to travel at short notice to undertake offshore attendances.
