Job Responsibilities

• Technically lead complex geotechnical projects that involve work with technical leads from other Fugro offices
• Work in collaborative manner with other service lines within Fugro and identify complementarities in service offering to establish an optimal solution for Fugro\xe2\x80\x99s Clients;
• Expert in geotechnical engineering assessments for offshore structures that includes:

• Pile capacity predictions using API and ISO framework or site specific methodology on basis of pile monitoring or pile testing data;
• Experienced with both driven pile and drilled and grouted pile foundations;
• Experienced with cyclic degradation assessment for pile foundations;
• Bearing capacity for mudmat and stability assessment;
• Jack-up leg penetration assessments for jack-up rigs and barges;
• Assessments to derive pipeline soil interaction parameters;
• Experienced in modeling carbonate soils for various engineering purposes;
• Supervise and lead a team of geotechnical engineers to deliver on both simple and complex projects according to the project deadlines;
• Review complex designs by others and develop design methods and codes;
• Review and approve geotechnical deliverables before it is submitted to Clients;
• Ensure that technical deliverables are done according to the agreed scope of work and based on best industry practices
• Publish scientific papers at key technical conferences (i.e. ADIPEC, ISFOG, OSIG, etc.);
• Review and approve complex proposals and bids that includes geotechnical engineering expertise;
• Contribute to, steering and guiding the Geoconsulting service line strategy;
• Contribute to knowledge transfer within Fugro organization through:

• the development of Fugro training material at both regional and global scale;
• development of internal innovative tools to support operational efficiency or improve prediction accuracy;
• training of junior and intermediate geotechnical consultants;
• coaching project teams to help them upskills an develop within Fugro;
• Participate in personal training development programs;
• Cultivate relationships academic institutions;

You bring (qualifications & experience)

• Master or PhD degree in Geotechnical Engineering;
• Require to be creative, thinking outside of the box and open to new approaches to solving problems;
• Be prepared to go the extra mile to meet or exceed Client\xe2\x80\x99s expectations;
• Experienced in conducting pile testing (static and dynamic such as using CAPWAP);
• Excellent team player to ensure positive team dynamics;
• Experienced in programming (python or C++);
• Experienced with finite element analyses software such as Plaxis, Abaqus, Limitstate Geo, etc.;
• 10+ years of experience in offshore geotechnical engineering.
