The Team

As part of the development of its MENA business, and overall global growth, Cundall are excited to announce the establishment of a new office in Riyadh, KSA. Cundall have been working on projects in KSA for almost 15 years, so this is the natural progression for the business, building on long standing relationships and offering the same high standard of multidisciplinary design and consultancy services.

This is something that has been in the planning for quite some time and our new office in Riyadh will complement the existing regional offices in the UAE and Qatar and provide a much stronger and resilient regional business structure.

Our specialist Acoustics Team works on projects throughout the region and the team provide consultancy services to clients both independently and as part of a co-ordinated multi-disciplinary offering on larger projects. They work on projects large and small, across a variety of sectors. Established in 2010, the team has gone from strength to strength, and is now represented regularly at industry events, providing thought leadership within the industry. The Role

Further to continuing success and growth, the team is now ready to add a Principal Acoustics Engineer who can bring a wealth of experience, drive and strategic leadership development of our existing team of Acoustics specialists. The Principal Engineer will take responsibility for acoustic input into a wide range of built environment engineering projects and will provide management and supervision to projects and team members. As a lead source of expertise, attendance and input at design meetings and providing clear advice to clients, architects and engineers (internal and external) on design issues relating to acoustics, noise and vibration will be crucial. Furthermore, the Principal Acoustic Engineer will be fundamental in sourcing work in KSA through strategic business development with the wider team.

The technical duties will include preparing and overseeing fee proposals for acoustics, noise and vibration assessments, sound management programmes and design specifications, which includes liaising with clients, acquisition and collation of data, computer modelling, noise and vibration monitoring, noise and vibration measurements, calculations and processing of results, interpretation of data, and production of reports, drawings, figures and tables. The Skills

Having been educated to degree level in Acoustic Engineering or another relevant discipline or as a member of the Institute of Acoustics (or other global equivalent), your career to date has seen you develop your expertise within a consultancy environment where you have gained an in depth understanding of environmental and building acoustic work stream. You have proven experience of providing your expertise to internal team members and third parties, including clients, contractors and architects, and have proven yourself as a highly effective manager of staff.

Overall, this role requires a high level of relevant expertise, consummate communication skills, and a passion for excellence in Acoustic Engineering.

Upper senior to principal level Degree qualified in Acoustics or related discipline Membership of professional institution High level of autonomy and entrepreneurial spirit (KSA will be a v. small team, responsibilities may be required outside of acoustics) Demonstrable management of junior team members. Demonstrable business devdevelopment. experience, particularly in new markets MENA region experience Arabic language skills would be an advantage
