Job summary Amazon Payment Services (APS) is seeking an experienced strategic, creative and analytical Public Relations (PR) professional. APS is a payment processing service in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region with a mission to empower businesses with simple, affordable, and trusted online payment experiences. This role reports to the Head of PR and Communications, MENA, and will have a dotted reporting line to the Head of Marketing, APS, MENA. The candidate will work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including the APS key business, product, and marketing leaders and global PR professionals. The successful candidate will have 8+ years of experience in business-to-business (B2B). It is preferable that the candidate also has business-to-consumer (B2C) communications experience. They would have a proven track record of planning and executing PR programs that help inform and build awareness and drive relevant brand associations across our key audiences. This requires a strong understanding of the current social media landscape across the region; best-in-class local media contacts; experience in delivering successful influencer campaigns, utilizing both organic and paid routes; and experience in delivering measurable results in both key brand and commercial metrics. They should be a strategic thinker and enjoy working in a fast-paced, start-up culture, and, when the job requires, roll up their sleeves and get the job done independently with the same obsessive attention to quality and detail expected of their team. Key job responsibilities
Media and key opinion leaders (KOLs) relations: Lead day-to-day contact and relationship building with key reporters for the business area to promote APS's reputation and brand awareness. The individual will work to generate impactful coverage and influence reporting and will be responsible for driving story ideation to media placement. The individual will also develop and maintain relationships with KOLs, including social media influencers and other media personalities.
Content generation: Write press releases, talking points, briefing documents, case studies, and other collateral for the media that advance APS's strategic narrative.
Strategy development and implementations: In support of the Head of the PR, the individual will develop the PR / influencer / digital comms strategies and will be responsible for the execution of the strategy. The individual will also utilize media coverage and industry and customer insights to inform strategies and best practices
Managing internal and external relationships: The individual will establish strong working relationships and collaborate closely with internal stakeholder teams - locally and globally - including marketing, product, marketing, public policy, legal, and other PR peers. The individual will also manage external PR and content development agencies.
Experience in B2C communication across the MENA region
Track record of working with and successfully evaluating innovative new formats and testing new and emerging channels
Experience in working across multiple MENA markets delivering coordinated campaigns
