: Principal Engineer/Team Leader, Water/Wastewater Dubai, UAE P arsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Engineer/Team Leader, Water/Wastewater to join our team! In this role you will get to p erform a variety of engineering duties by applying advanced engineering techniques and analyses within one discipline. Assignment may be to a structured rotational program which would include experience in Project Controls, Procurement, and Construction Management, as well as through several disciplines in Engineering. Some assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/ CAD (computer aided design) / GIS (Geographic Information System) applications . What You\'ll Be Doing:
- Performs various engineering and design assignments requiring the application of advanced principles and fundamental theories studied in a four-year university engineering program, and available data in the civil engineering field.
- Can independently prepare and supervise the preparation of fundamental engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. Able to prepare the detailed requisitions for material purchase, services, and subcontracts.
- Can undertake independent reviews of supplier drawing submittals and technical bid analyses. Supervise in the preparation and issuance of specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
- Provides input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project. The engineer will be required to carry out CAD related tasks while using special 3D software and model creation.
- The engineer shall be able to independently lead a team of design engineers, hydraulic modelers and draftsmen involved in carrying out designs of collection, conveyance, and disposal of wastewater networks. The engineer shall have proven track record of managing small to medium size design teams as well will demonstrate advance experience and knowledge of preparing and developing hydraulic models for gravity network, design reports and Bentley SewerCAD / SewerGems, WaterGems, InfoSWMM and Infoworks CS .
- Shall be familiar with load demand calculations for large private developments and/ or large government projects. Shall be conversant with Water / Irrigation / Firefighting Authority regulations such as DEWA, ADDC/ ADWEA, DM, ADM, DCD, ADCD and other relevant authorities within gulf region.
- Preparation of technical specifications and design reports.
- Shall be conversant with the British and American codes as well as DEWA / DM regulations for the design of wastewater systems.
- Working knowledge of planning, designing and construction of centralized and decentralized wastewater systems, including primary secondary and tertiary wastewater treatment, passive and active systems, sewerage, pumping systems, sludge and effluent management, etc.
- Shall have basis experience in creating utility cross sections as per requirements of local authorities in the Gulf region like RTA (Dubai), DMT (Abu Dhabi), MOMRA (KSA), etc.Shall have experience of liaising with service providers agencies for obtaining NOCs and Design Approvals, etc.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- 4 year degree in Engineering (Civil or Environmental discipline) and Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in water related discipline.
- Minimum15 years of related work experience with 5 years related experience on water/wastewater projects within UAE/GCC.
- Prior experience in design of water/wastewater networks is required.
- Advance engineering knowledge in design of urban and industrial wastewater systems.
- Must have the ability to manage projects, interface with clients and enjoy being hands on technically in the project.
- C andidates with professional qualification (PE, CIWEM or ICE etc.) will be preferred.
- K nowledge and experience of civil design practices, common international design standards, and codes in the design of roads, sewer/water utilities, earthwork, grading, drainage, and site design, has knowledge and experience in the design of residential subdivisions, commercial and industrial site design, street and highway design, and fundamental surveying practices.
- Familiarity with CAD (Civil 3D) and other PC software packages typically associated with wet services engineering is also required.
- Regional/international experience of wastewater systems design and management strategies in comparable situations.
- We are looking for a team player with strong inter-personal, communication and excellent report writing skills.
- Experience in on-the-job training and mentoring in wastewater design and management skills.
- Advance engineering knowledge in design of urban and industrial wastewater systems.
