Oliver Wyman is now looking for a PR & Editorial Manager for the IMEA region. This is a fixed term parental leave cover contract and will be based in our Dubai office.

The Opportunity

Building on Oliver Wyman\xe2\x80\x99s reputation as generous experts who publish insightful and inspiring content, we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a PR & Editorial pro to help us ramp up our publishing efforts and significantly increase our reach and impact. We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for an experienced and ambitious content publishing professional to serve as our PR & Editorial manager in our IMEA marketing team. This role is a parental leave cover contract of either 9 to 12 months \xe2\x80\x93 as preferred \xe2\x80\x93 starting in early 2024, and during that time you will have the opportunity to shape and implement the external communications and content marketing strategy for the company, as well as being responsible for media relations and PR, with the support of our PR agency. The ideal candidate will oversee the creation of all content er our priority themes and priority audiences\xe2\x80\x99 interests, p as we strive to support our business\xe2\x80\x99 growth targets and expand our influence in the consulting space.

From press releases and short thought leadership pieces to longer reports, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work closely with Oliver Wyman\xe2\x80\x99s IMEA Marketing Head to set and execute the company\xe2\x80\x99s content marketing and earned media strategy, with support from the global head of External Affairs and theglobal head of Editorial & Thought Leadership Publishing. You\xe2\x80\x99ll also regularly engage with a world-class team of creatives to develop compelling content which resonates with our clients and inspires them to act. You will input into the overarching content strategy for our firm, working closely with our ABM & Campaigns specialist and Digital & Social Media lead to get our stories to our most important audiences.

You will also support the business by acting as a consultant and advisor to help them amplify ideas across all relevant channels.

The successful candidate will:

Establish and manage OW IMEA\xe2\x80\x99s editorial & PR strategy in collaboration with IMEA Head of Marketing, including optimal topics, format, and cadence of published content to support growth goals.

Develop strategies that get our ideas and stories to audiences we want to influence

Use their agency-side experience and media contacts to research, identify, and build relationships with relevant third-party influencers, partners, and publications to extend the reach and amplify the impact of OW content, and manage process of pitching and placing OW content in earned channels.

Commission and manage content creation vendors and freelancers, to augment our team\xe2\x80\x99s capacity in producing news-worthy releases, op-eds, white papers and reports

Key responsibilities of the role include:

Strategise and source opportunities for the placement of OW content and stories, aligned with our strategic priorities, across both earned and owned channels \xe2\x80\x93 managing PR agencies across multiple markets.

Confident writer able to compose press releases; ability to conceive and craft ideas that generate coverage as well as amplifying stories through earned media.

Strong interest in business issues, with a desire to keep on top of emerging trends and news.

Build, nurture and leverage media-side relationships to help deepen trust and understanding of OW\xe2\x80\x99s expertise and drive up relevant coverage, with a particular focus on the Middle East; develop press kits and respond to inbound enquiries, with the help of our partner agencies.

Lend a keen editor\xe2\x80\x99s eye to all copy to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with company strategy, themes, messages, and SEO strategy.

Arrange pressers, interviews, and other media and event appearances as relevant.

Track, evaluate, and share results of PR efforts; Evaluate other content programs to ensure they align with PR goals.

Develop foundational creative processes for content production across all owned, earned, and paid channels.

Collect and share best practices for content marketing with internal team members and coach them on how to improve their copywriting skills.

Manage the scheduling of internal and 3rd party content developers and help identify, onboard, and develop new freelance writers as needed.

Work with internal team members to prepare content for publishing content on OW-owned channels; Input into other teams\xe2\x80\x99 content development strategies in line with our goals.

Track and report on topics of interest to target customer segments, monitor competitor content marketing trends, and use insights from research to propose and evolve editorial priorities.

Together with our Marketing Analytics associate, establish and report on KPIs, benchmarks, and goals for each type of content produced; recommend changes to optimize performance.

Experience Required

Is fluent in both written and spoken English, with Arabic a bonus

Has as min of 5 years exposure to the Middle East media landscape, with experience in South Africa and India advantageous

Is organized with excellent follow-up skills and attention to detail

Is an accomplished persuader, can influence outcomes

Is proactive, can work autonomously and within teams, and work under tight timelines

Based in the UAE; willing to travel when required, on occasion

Media-side and/or PR/Comms agency experience, with deep understanding of content marketing

Bachelors degree in Marketing/Public Relations/Journalism/Business Administration or similar

Skills and Attributes

5 years experience, preferably handling professional services accounts.

Experience in writing, editing, content production and editorial management

Experience in the development and successful execution of content marketing strategies

Ability to act as a trusted, strategic adviser to OW\xe2\x80\x99s Subject Matter Experts; experience in collaborating with and managing expectations of senior business leaders a plus

Creative thinker who can work with OW\xe2\x80\x99s partners and subject-matter experts to shape original, provocative, and compelling content based on client insights and pain points

Self-motivated, flexible problem solver who can manage multiple projects and deadlines but also adapt quickly to find alternative ways to get work done.
