What Does a Power Station Operator Do?
A Power Station Operator is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and maintaining power plant operations, ensuring efficient performance of steam turbines and auxiliary systems.
Key Responsibilities
Control Room & Plant Operations
- Perform, control, and monitor power plant operations from the central control room
- Assist in startup, shutdown, and emergency operation of the plant and equipment as per instructions
- Ensure compliance with operational schedules and safety guidelines
System Monitoring & Maintenance
- Monitor operating conditions of the plant and report abnormalities to senior operators
- Record and analyze process parameters to maintain optimal plant performance
- Carry out routine fuel oil storage tank filling from road tankers
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all plant safety regulations and emergency protocols
- Identify and report any potential hazards or system malfunctions
- Ensure adherence to operational standards and procedures
What Qualifications & Skills Are Required for This Position?
- 6 to 10 years of experience in power plant operations, specifically with **steam turbines and modern gas systems**
- Hands-on experience in monitoring and operating auxiliary systems
- Bachelor\'s degree or relevant technical diploma in power plant engineering or a related field
- Strong understanding of **power station safety regulations and operational procedures**
- Must be currently based in **India and available for relocation** to Dubai
