Overview

**This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP**

+ Under the supervision of the Public Works Operations Manager, performs inspection of generator systems in support of new-construction, upgraded, and/or repaired fixed, semi-permanent, or relocatable structures. Ensures compliance with requisite contractual, US Government, DOD, U.S. Army, local and safety, regulations, codes, policies, guidelines and instructions. Provides technical support to the Facilities Maintenance Branches and Projects Team.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

+ Performs initial, in-progress, and final inspections to identify violations and the corrections made to repair them.

+ Provides oversight on subcontracted generator Operations and Maintenance (O&M).

+ Ensures repairs and alterations to remedy inspection violations are accomplished according to industry standards.

+ Performs random site visits during each phase of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance (initial through final) to conduct inspections.

+ Follows-up as needed to perform additional inspections during each phase of maintenance (initial through final).

+ Inspects in-progress and completed work for quality workmanship and safety.

+ Reviews materials to be used prior to the start of work.

+ Signs off that all work has been satisfactorily accomplished following completion of maintenance or project activities.

+ Uses the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track and update work orders as needed.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

+ MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

+ High School graduate or equivalent

+ Certification as master tradesman preferred

+ Generator repair technical school required, military training preferred

+ Must possess a US driver's license for the purpose of obtaining a Military and/0or Kuwait Driver's License

+ Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination:

+ To be qualified for this position you must comply with USCENTCOM MOD 16 that requires proof that you are fully vaccinated for COVID-19, as defined by the CDC or host country requirements. As of now, to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 you must have received either two doses of Pfizer BioNTech Vaccine, two doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford Vaccine, two doses of Moderna Vaccine, or one dose of Johnson & Johnson Vaccine, and two weeks must have elapsed after the final dose was administered. This definition may change in accordance with CDC guidelines. Compliance with this government requirement is an essential function of the position and is a condition of employment.

+ Experience:

+ Minimum of ten (10) years continuous experience performing installation and/or maintenance on generators at a supervisor or inspector level

+ Skills:

+ Must possess the technical skill to identify repair requirements as it pertains to generator and associated equipment.

+ Must have expert knowledge of equipment manuals for servicing, operations and repair of electrical systems.

+ Must be an expert in corrective actions performed by maintenance teams.

+ Must have the ability to troubleshoot, service and repair generator systems.

+ Must have full knowledge of a generator mechanic's tools and test equipment.

+ Must be proficient in all phases of paperwork as it pertains to servicing, maintenance, repairs, classification, etc.

+ Must have expert knowledge of equipment operations as it is critical to providing a quality inspection program.

+ Must be capable of giving and receiving instructions during the course of normal duties.

+ Must be capable of working independently with little-or-no guidance.

+ Must be willing to adapt to rapidly-changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

+ Working Conditions:

+ Work is generally conducted on-site at maintenance and project locations in out-of-doors areas with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work may require lifting up to 50 lbs, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, and Fire Regulations and published company work rules.

+ Physical Requirements:

+ Physical requirements include lifting, climbing, extended sitting or standing, or other physical efforts that are normally required.
