ABOUT THE ROLE Based in our Corporate Office in Dubai and reporting to the Port Services Operations Director, the Corporate Marine & Projects Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Port Services is responsible for monitoring and guiding the Division\xe2\x80\x99s Business Units on all Marine matters. The position will liaise with Corporate Port Services Division as required, to monitor operational, technical and HSEQ Standards. The Corporate Marine & Projects Manager is also responsible for the monitoring of standard operating procedures as they relate to safe ship operations including navigation, crewing, cargo work and passengers in the Division, working with Business Unit General Managers to improve on board marine systems and, where practical, standardise safe marine operations across the Division. Working for new projects, preparing, and setting up new businesses is another key aspect of this role. Whilst this role is based at P&O Maritime Logistics Corporate office in Dubai the role will involve worldwide travel as it may be required for the fulfilment of the role, which may be required at short notice for emergency situations across the Division\xe2\x80\x99s BUs. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES OPERATIONS STANDARDS AND PROCEDURES
Support, develop and maintain Marine & Project Standards for P&O Maritime Logistics, with due regards to Divisional and vessel diversity
Manage Corporate governance framework across the Company\xe2\x80\x99s fleet to ensure consistent and cohesive processes are applied in all Business Units for fleet operations.
Provide support to Business Unit Operations .
INTEGRATED BUSINESS MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
In consultation with each Business Unit, establish Corporate Marine Policies and Standards for use by contractors when working with P&OML
Provide advice and guidance to Business Units to improve performance and develop marine experience across the Division.
Work with Business Unit to assist in the implementation of an Integrated Marine Management scheme and advice on ship marine matters as required
FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE
Budget review and sign off on OPEX for all Division Business Units (annual)
Monitor Division Business Unit\xe2\x80\x99s financial performance in relation to budget and cost optimisation.
NEW PROJECTS
Develop marine and full requirements for all new projects/ Business Unit expansions, as required.
Set up of new Business Units as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Sound understanding of shipboard operations and seagoing experience .
A minimum of 8 years shore side management experience and at least 5 years at senior management/executive level.
Commercial and Project experience working on Business expansion
Solid experience with shipboard safety management systems including understanding of ISM, ISO and ISPS code requirements
Experience in developing and implementing plans, policies and procedures in support of organisational strategic objectives
ISM and ISPS internal auditor qualifications
