An increase in air traffic growth has led to crucial need for modernisation of Oman's transport infrastructure, Thales is providing security solutions for Oman's largest infrastructure project, Muscat International Airport and for Salalah Airport in Oman's second largest city.
JOB OBJECTIVE
Responsible to lead the PMO activities, with a good experience in schedule, risks, change control, document control, and reporting management.
To support Project Manager with project structuring, strategy definition and implementation, progress reporting including schedule updates, forecast to complete, variance identification and opportunities for improvement.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Deploy Group processes, methods and tools applicable to Project Management target Operating Model
Lead inter-departmental coordination to anticipate, plan, optimize, coordinate and adjust project activities
Collect and consolidate projects data/KPI's to trigger informed decision making
Establish and monitor project management performance indicators appropriate to the project
Participates / organizes Project Change Control Board Meetings
Build and maintain a workload plan (for existing and future project activities)
Coordinate risks analysis and monitor the updates throughout the project lifecycle.
Works closely with the project Contracts Manager to efficiently report performance and record issues that negatively impact the project to support claim management
Set-up and implement a claims/variation strategy including all the project stakeholders within FIDIC Contract Standards
Attend Core Team reviews to report on schedule updates, forecast to complete, variance identification and opportunities for improvement.
Deploy Lessons Learnt practices over the project lifecycle
Implement Project management / Process improvement initiatives
Maintains a positive and professional working relationship with customers, partners, sub-contractors and vendors.
Ensures full compliance to Company safety and quality procedures
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
5 years of experience of working on large scale Projects
QUALIFICATION, CERTIFICATION & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Master degree or equivalent in relevant field
3 years of managerial experience
PREFERRED SKILLS
Highly experienced in stakeholder management.
Exhibit leadership in identifying and resolving issues
Excellent communication skills
Data oriented with good analytical skills and exposure to data visualization
Able to set-up the baseline program timeline and work with the project team identifying risks and issues that could impact the delivery plan
Familiar in leading variations anticipation-preparation and prevention strategies
Provide support specifically to the Work Package Managers / Project Leads and Project Engineers in all functions of the PMO
Ability to take on responsibilities, use initiatives to prioritize and work efficiently under pressure to achieve tight deadlines
