Job Description

We are currently looking for PMC Senior Planning Engineer with a real time experience in Offshore to be based in Abu Dhabi Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain projects\xe2\x80\x99 master schedules and projects\xe2\x80\x99 status for Client / Senior Project Management review.
  • Prepare/Update project control procedures and project planning packages for assigned projects.
  • Establish Work Breakdown structure (WBS) & detailed schedules using CPM/PERT as applicable.
  • Develop and maintain Project Progress Measurement System in line with Client requirements.
  • Establish and monitor project progress based on key milestones and performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Analyse, evaluate and forecast project progress against an established baseline schedule. Assess the impact(s) of any changes and schedule slippages.
  • Provide timely schedule impact reviews and integrated project schedule updates.
  • Prepare graphs, diagrams, and other exhibits to illustrate project progress / cost status and forecast requirements for Client / Project team.
  • Ensure projects are executed within the contractual duration and allowed budgets and identify/issue potential variations to Client.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure all project activities are completed in a timely manner, identify and report any potential delays.
  • Devise strategies to overcome schedule slippages through various met Head of the Departments such as using industry related technical knowledge, innovating shortcuts or alternative ways acceptable to Client/Company, improvising with available resources, scheduling overtime to meet the deadline, and the like.
  • Prepare recovery schedules and / or time impact analysis.
  • Integrate resources and costs into schedules for budgets, expenditure and resource analysis.
  • Prepare & track invoices as per the invoicing procedures.
  • Review/approve EPC contractors\xe2\x80\x99 / Sub-contractors\xe2\x80\x99 / Vendors\xe2\x80\x99 Project Control deliverables including project schedules, progress measurements system, reporting requirements etc.
  • Prepare and issue weekly/monthly reports as stipulated by client on agreed cut-off dates to assess the project progress, shortfalls, concerns etc.
  • Coordination and regulating various meetings such as project progress review meetings.
  • Assist the Head of Department in assessing the requirements for staff training and the technical performance of staff.
  • Assist the Head of Department in the management of the department workload.
  • Participate in the Company\xe2\x80\x99s mentoring program to assist and mentor younger, less experienced engineers.
  • Assist on Proposals, Tender bid documents
  • Monitor the costs w.r.t. the allocated project budget and advise the project manager/Project Control Manager of any over/under spending on a timely basis.
Knowledge / Experience (Skills):
  • A degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • A professional certification such as PMI-SP, PMP is desirable
  • 15 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in oil & gas Offshore project
  • Experience in managing a team of Engineers
  • Knowledge of standard practices in Planning/Project Controls
  • Good knowledge & hands on experience in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point etc.
  • Must have hands on experience with planning tools like Primavera v6.0, MS project etc.
  • Familiarity with international codes, standards and regulations.
