Job Description
Reporting to : To Construction Manager Qualifications: (Should be qualified Engineer BSc or higher) The Senior Engineer shall be a qualified Engineer with minimum of 12 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Design and Managing design works out of a minimum of 15 years overall experience. Duties: The duties of the Senior Engineer shall include but not be limited to the following tasks:
- Review the Mechanical drawings, reports, specification submitted by the DESIGN CONSULTANTs at each stage of the Design to ensure completeness, correctness, compliance with the Scope of WORK and agreements requirements.
- Carry out construct ability review during the Design / construction stages.
- Review in a timely manner the DESIGN CONSULTANT / CONTRACTOR(S) submittals and forward comments to the Engineering Manager.
- Ensure the DESIGN CONSULTANT / CONTRACTOR(S) incorporate the comments raised from previous stages.
- Attend Technical meetings with the DESIGN CONSULTANT and other SUB-CONSULTANTS, CONTRACTOR\xe2\x80\x99S and COMPANY Team.
- Review CONTRACTOR / CONSULTANT\xe2\x80\x99S proposed design organizations, related CV\xe2\x80\x99s, and report to Engineering Manager on his findings.
- Coordinate with PMC\xe2\x80\x99s Document Controller and PMT QA/QC Eng. to ensure that all Documents related to his discipline are properly controlled.
- Review the alternatives to the Design concept submitted by the DESIGN CONSULTANT and CONTRACTORS, prepare and submit a report including recommendation to Engineering Manager highlighting advantages and disadvantages of each alternative.
- Review the materials proposed by the DESIGN CONSULTANT / CONTRACTOR(S) and propose alternative to improve the quality, future maintenance, safety and cost effectiveness.
- Review the change requests/ variations submitted by the CONTRACTORS.
- Review Tender Documents to ensure completeness prior to issuing to Bidders.
- Participate in the pre-qualification of the construction Contractors.
- Review and reply to Bidders clarifications, participate in issuing Bulletins and attending Technical Meetings with Bidders during Tender stage.
