We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic female

Play Assistant

to create a fun, vibrant, engaging atmosphere in our inclusive edutainment zones. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing play-based learning experiences, that incorporate fun and educational activities, helping to foster a love of learning through interactive play, for children aged 3 to 10 years of age.

This role requires creativity, high energy and a genuine passion for working and supporting children in a safe and nurturing environment.

Requirements of the Role

High school diploma or equivalent is required; a Child Development credential or CACHE Level 1 or 2, or a related certification or qualification in early childhood development Minimum 2 years of practical experience in a childcare setting, or similar role working with children in educational, recreational, or entertainment settings. Familiarity with play-based learning principles Baseline understanding of child safety and health protocols First Aid course and CPR certification would be desirable Experience in face painting, party planning, arts, crafts, slime and other child-focused recreational activities is an advantage Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's emotional and social development. Creativity and enthusiasm, with a talent for making learning fun Excellent organisational skills; ability to manage multiple activities and responsibilities simultaneously. Team-oriented, with the ability to take direction from supervisors and work collaboratively with others. Flexible and adaptable, responsive to the evolving needs of the children and the environment. Ability to handle challenging situations professionally and sensitively.

Key Responsibility:

Develop, plan, and facilitate a range of educational and entertaining activities, games, and workshops that promote learning through play. Engage children in interactive experiences that stimulate their curiosity, creativity, and social development. Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where children feel comfortable to explore and express themselves. Monitor and supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the Zone, including activity setup and cleanup. Collaborate with team members to ensure a variety of activities that cater to different interests and learning styles. Communicate effectively with parents/caregivers to provide updates on their child's participation and development. Assist in therapeutic and play-based learning activities when needed Document behaviors and interactions to your supervisor if and when needed Follow all safety and health protocols, including in crisis or emergency situations. Flexible and adaptable, able to respond to the changing needs of children and the therapeutic environment. Committed to fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all Children. Any other duties assigned by the Department Supervisor.
