Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Trip Scheduling & Coordination - Plan and allocate transportation schedules efficiently, ensuring optimal utilization of trucks, trailers, and drivers while minimizing empty miles.

2. Route Optimization - Analyze and implement cost-effective and time-efficient routes for freight transportation, considering factors like traffic conditions, tolls, and fuel efficiency.

3. Fleet & Resource Management - Oversee truck availability, vehicle maintenance, driver assignments, and fuel usage to ensure uninterrupted logistics operations.

4. Load Planning - Ensure proper load distribution and weight balancing to maximize truck capacity, comply with axle weight regulations, and prevent vehicle overloading.

5. Customer Coordination - Act as the primary point of contact for clients, confirming delivery schedules, addressing special cargo requirements, and managing any last-minute changes.

6. Real-Time Monitoring - Utilize GPS tracking and fleet management systems to monitor vehicle movement, proactively address delays, and ensure on-time deliveries.

7. Compliance & Safety - Enforce strict adherence to land transportation laws, weight regulations, driver working hours, and company safety protocols to maintain compliance and minimize risks.

8. Issue Resolution - Troubleshoot operational challenges such as truck breakdowns, rerouting due to road closures, driver shortages, or load discrepancies, ensuring minimal disruptions.

9. Reporting & Data Analysis - Generate reports on fleet performance, trip efficiency, maintenance costs, and fuel consumption to support strategic decision-making and cost control.

10. Team Supervision - Lead and mentor the dispatch and logistics team, fostering effective communication, operational efficiency, and a problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Transportation (preferred).Minimum 5+ years of experience in land transportation logistics, fleet management, or freight operations.Strong knowledge of transport regulations, load weight restrictions, and road safety compliance.Proficiency in GPS tracking systems, transport management software (TMS), and data analysis tools.Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.Ability to handle time-sensitive deliveries and manage high-pressure situations efficiently.
