Planning Engineer
Job Summary:
The Planning Engineer is responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining project schedules. They use specialized software to plan the sequence of work, allocate resources, and monitor progress against the baseline schedule. Their work is critical for predicting project timelines, identifying potential delays, and ensuring projects stay on track.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed project schedules using Critical Path Method (CPM) and software like Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Work with project managers and engineers to define project scope, work breakdown structure (WBS), and activities.
• Estimate resources, durations, and costs required for each project activity.
• Monitor and track project progress, updating schedules regularly and comparing actual performance to the baseline.
• Identify critical path activities and potential schedule risks or delays.
• Prepare and present progress reports, S-curves, and dashboards to project stakeholders.
• Suggest corrective actions and recovery plans to mitigate delays.
• Participate in project meetings to provide scheduling insights and forecasts.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Planning Engineer, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or oil & gas.
• Expertise in project planning software (Primavera P6 is highly valued).
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies.
• Attention to detail and excellent reporting skills.
