Job Description

• To ensure Project Schedules are prepared, recorded, analyzed, monitored and controlled against Contract requirements.
• To manage project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas for the determination of criticality of schedule activities and Develop alternatives for schedule improvement.
• To interface with project site management and client counterparts for specific planning and scheduling tasks.
• To interface with Production team of various areas to ensure correct build sequence and progress reporting.
• To support QS and Project Engineers in assessment of Variations and associated claims and Extension of Time.
• Establishment work priorities in accordance with project requirement. Planning and identification of resources (staffing).
• Review and comment on work programs prepared by the sub-contractor and report findings to the Project Manager.
• Review and comment on other planning/progress related reports submitted by contractors with the consent of the Project Manager.
• Work with and assist the Resident Engineer in highlighting and effectively communicating any shortfall of the program to the CPM.
• Monitor work programs and status, ensuring progress reported is a true reflection of work achieved, and report areas of concern or particular progress to the Project Manager.
• Attend any relevant planning meetings with project managers and contractor.
• Provide relevant planning related information and suggestion to the Project Manager whenever required.
• Scrutinize in detail the contractor work program in relation to logics, critical paths, floats and lags and make any necessary comments to the Project Manager.
• Work closely with contractor's planning team to ensure that work programs are in accordance with contractual requirements.
• To ensure the Contractor's schedule of the work order is prepared using the system referred to as the Critical Path Method (CPM).
• To ensure that the contractor's schedule is prepared using the specified timeframe as indicted in the work order approved by the client.
• To ensure that the Contractor's CPM plan shall be drawn to a level of details sufficient to show clearly all salient features of the work order and the sequence of activities are clearly demonstrated.
• To ensure that the Contractor's schedule of the work order is submitted along with the salient information such as concise written description of the construction plan, cost and the required resources.
• To assist the Project Manager in determining the Extension of Time claims by the Contractor.
• To assist the Project Manager in the preparation of Bi Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports.
• To ensure the quality of the works during the construction stage by regular site visits and ensures compliance with drawings and specifications.
• To participate in handing over of the work order.
• Assist PM in carrying out any correspondence needed with the client, the contractor and Government Departments (if needed).
• Assist in preparation of Monthly Reports in coordination with Resident Engineer and Project Manager.

Eligibility:

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 4-8 years' experience required as Planning Engineer from Construction or Fitout or related industry.
• Valid UAE driving License.
• Preference would be given for those who can join immediately.
