Piping Designer
Job Summary:
The Piping Designer creates the physical 3D models and detailed drawings that translate engineering concepts into buildable designs. They work under the direction of Piping Engineers to develop piping layouts, isometrics, and support details.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop 3D piping models using software like SP3D, PDMS, or AutoCAD Plant 3D.
- Generate and check piping general arrangement drawings, isometric drawings, and support details.
- Perform equipment modeling and routing of piping in accordance with P&IDs and project standards.
- Conduct 3D model reviews and clash detection sessions.
- Coordinate space and routing requirements with other disciplines in the 3D model.
- Extract material take-offs (MTOs) from the model.
- Incorporate as-built information into drawings during construction.
- Diploma in Engineering Design & Drafting Technology or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience in 3D piping design for industrial projects.
- High proficiency in at least one major 3D design software (SP3D, PDMS, PDS, or AutoCAD Plant 3D).
- Strong understanding of piping components, materials, and fabrication/construction methods.
