The Pipeline Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of pipeline systems. The role ensures that all pipeline construction and maintenance activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise day-to-day operations of pipeline construction, maintenance, and repair activities.
Plan and allocate manpower, equipment, and materials required for each task.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Inspect worksites regularly to monitor progress and identify potential issues or hazards.
Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure timely project completion.
Conduct hydrostatic, pneumatic, and pressure testing of pipelines as per standards.
Verify pipeline alignment, welding, coating, and jointing works meet technical specifications.
Maintain daily work reports, material usage records, and manpower logs.
Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance schedules are followed for existing pipeline networks.
Support commissioning and handover processes after project completion.
Train and supervise pipeline technicians and helpers to ensure adherence to procedures.
Enforce company policies on safety, health, and environment at all times.
Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Civil / Industrial Engineering or related field.
Minimum 2-5 years of experience in pipeline construction, maintenance, or utilities (oil & gas / water / district cooling).
Strong knowledge of pipeline installation standards, materials, and testing methods.
Experience with underground utilities and site work is an advantage.
Familiarity with safety standards (HSE, OSHA) and quality control procedures.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
Excellent communication and reporting ability.
Problem-solving and decision-making capability under pressure.
Technical knowledge of pipeline drawings, layouts, and isometric plans.
Proficiency in MS Office and basic project management tools.
Work Conditions:
Site-based role; requires working outdoors in variable weather conditions.
May involve extended hours or weekend work depending on project deadlines.
