Job Summary:

A Pet Groomer is responsible for providing grooming services to a variety of pets, primarily dogs and cats. This includes bathing, trimming, brushing, nail clipping, ear cleaning, and styling according to breed standards or owner preferences. The groomer ensures the comfort, safety, and well-being of the animals during grooming procedures and maintains a clean and organized grooming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Bathe, dry, brush, and de-shed pets using safe and appropriate techniques and products Perform haircuts and styling in accordance with breed standards or client requests Trim nails, clean ears, and check for signs of parasites or skin issues Handle animals with care and professionalism, especially those who are anxious or aggressive Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools, equipment, and grooming area Consult with pet owners about grooming needs and preferences Identify and report health concerns or unusual conditions to owners or veterinary staff Keep accurate records of grooming services provided Follow all safety protocols and animal welfare guidelines

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; formal grooming training or certification preferred Proven experience as a Pet Groomer or similar role Knowledge of different breeds and coat types, grooming tools, and products Comfortable handling animals of all sizes and temperaments Excellent customer service and communication skills Physically fit: able to stand for long periods and lift pets as needed Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for animals

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a grooming salon or veterinary clinic environment Exposure to animals of all temperaments, pet hair, dander, and cleaning chemicals May involve weekends, evenings, and holiday shifts depending on business needs
