As a Pastry Chef focused primarily on cakes, you will be responsible for designing, baking and decorating custom cakes for a variety of events including weddings, birthdays, corporate events and special occasions. You will be an integral part of our kitchen team, working in a fast-paced environment where quality, innovation, and attention to detail are key.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and execute custom cakes from concept to completion
Bake and decorate cakes for daily production and special orders
Collaborate with clients and team members to create bespoke cake designs
Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation
Maintain a clean, organized and compliant kitchen environment
Stay up-to-date on current cake trends, techniques and tools
Manage ingredients inventory and assist in ordering supplies when needed
Train and mentor junior staff when applicable
Requirements:
3-5 years of professional experience as a pastry chef with a strong focus on cake design and production
Exceptional skills in baking, icing, and decorative techniques (e.g., fondant, buttercream, piping, sugar work)
Strong artistic sensibility and creativity
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices
Culinary degree or pastry certification preferred but not required with equivalent experience
