Party Chief (Surveyor)

The Party Chief Surveyor will be responsible for ensuring that the project is completed in accordance with the procedures and Client specifications and within the confines of the contract. Also responsible for ensuring that the results are presented in a professional, timely, and efficient manner. Work closely with QC Surveyor / Reports Co-ordinator and Chief Cartographer for timely submission of reports, where applicable Liaise with the Project Manager during the performance of the field survey operations. Liaise with Client representatives on data quality and processing requirements

Job responsibilities:

Supervise the performance of the project including logistics and administrative aspects in cooperation with the appointed Project Manager.

Lead and direct the survey team during the performance of the field survey operations to ensure the project is performed in accordance with the Company's contract, to perform survey work, and liaise with the Client's representative onsite regarding operational matters.

To be fully aware of the company's contractual obligations for the project and to ensure they are met.

To monitor and ensure that the field operations are performed in accordance with the Company's published Quality Assurance, Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures, Client requirements, and local legislation.

Ensure that all survey equipment is calibrated, tested, and fit for purpose.

Ensure that sufficient spares, manuals, and consumables are held onboard and that the survey team is familiar with the equipment and prepared for the survey.

To verify that the vessel is adequately provisioned and that logistics are organized such that the survey is conducted as efficiently as possible.

To ensure that the survey is performed and the data acquired in accordance with good survey practice, survey logs are completed and that data processing and interpretation is maintaining pace with data acquisition where necessary.

Compile and submit daily reports to the Clients representative for approval and distribute them as required.

To liaise with the project manager on any deficiencies in the survey and on matters of survey planning.

Ensure that on completion of the project(s) that all survey records are collated and in good order prior to the departure of crews.

You bring (qualifications & experience)

M.Sc. or B.Sc. level in surveying or engineering.

6-8 years offshore experience with a minimum of 3 years in a senior role Conversant with software/equipment in use.

Computer literate with report writing ability.

Ability to plan and supervise survey operations, manage personnel and communicate effectively with offshore, onshore, and Client personnel.

Capable of generating a safe and quality-based culture within the offshore team.

An excellent communicator (verbally and written) and able to form good working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.

Disciplined, self-motivated and flexible team player.
