SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

The Event Coordinator for the Office of International Academic Affairs is responsible for every aspect of events held by the office. They should be well-organized with excellent attention to detail and communication skills that are vital in this role. They will act as a leader, planner, organizer and guides for events and activities held by the office. The goal of the Event Coordinator is to organize and successfully complete remarkable events that will ensure the satisfaction and benefit of the participants.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Planning, organizing, executing and overseeing the office\'s events held virtually and/or in-person (off-campus/on-campus).
  • Liaise and coordinate with colleges, offices, vendors, and stakeholders of the events to ensure successful completion.
  • Maintain and document event budgets, expense records, and resources.
  • Conduct final satisfaction surveys and/or completion reports necessary.
  • Lead tours on campus and around famous UAE cities.
  • Provide advice and assistance to international students about academic and student life in the UAE.
  • Accompany international students to/from the airport and between locations, if required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Significant experience in event planning, organization and execution.
  • Outstanding resources, logistics and vendor management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of AU\'s structure, systems and procedures relevant to students and external visitors.
  • In-depth knowledge of the UAE and touristic locations relevant to international guests and/or students.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Creative and innovative thinkers who have successfully managed and executed events.
  • Good teamwork and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication, writing and oral presentation skills.
  • Well-organized with excellent multi-tasking abilities.
  • Sophisticated communication skills and be able to foster collaborative relationships with colleges and units across campus and with the public, domestically and internationally.
  • Great sense of responsibility and accountability in leadership positions.
