Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and certified

Painting and Coating Inspector

to join our Quality Control team for ongoing and upcoming Oil & Gas EPC projects in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all surface preparation, painting, and coating activities comply with international standards, client specifications, and project requirements.

Inspection & Quality Control

Conduct inspections of surface preparation, painting, and coating applications on structural steel, piping, tanks, and equipment Monitor and verify surface preparation methods including grit blasting, UHP water jetting, and mechanical cleaning Inspect and approve surface cleanliness standards (Sa 2, Sa 3, SSPC-SP standards) Verify coating material specifications, batch numbers, mixing ratios, and storage conditions Monitor application methods including spray application, thickness control, and cure times Measure and document dry film thickness (DFT) using electronic gauges Conduct adhesion tests, holiday detection tests, and surface profile measurements Verify environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point) during application Inspect coating repairs, touch-ups, and final coating integrity

Compliance & Standards

Ensure compliance with NACE, SSPC, ISO, and ASTM coating standards Verify adherence to client specifications (ADNOC, ARAMCO coating standards, etc.) Implement and maintain coating inspection procedures and checklists Monitor compliance with approved coating system specifications Support HSE initiatives and ensure safe working practices in coating areas Participate in coating audits and client inspections

Professional Certifications (Mandatory)

NACE CIP Level 2

(Coating Inspector Program) or

BGAS CSWIP Level 2

- mandatory

NACE CIP Level 3

or

BGAS CSWIP Level 3

- highly preferred

FROSIO Level 2/3

or

ICORR Level 2/3

- acceptable alternatives Valid certification from recognized international bodies

Experience

Minimum 5-8 years

of experience in coating inspection for Oil & Gas projects Proven experience in EPC construction projects (onshore/offshore facilities)

Technical Skills

Thorough knowledge of NACE standards (RP0169, RP0176, SP0188, etc.) Proficiency in SSPC standards (SSPC-SP series, SSPC-PA series) Understanding of ISO 8501, ISO 8502, ISO 8503, and ISO 12944 standards
