Oxygen Shop Supervisor Salary: Competitive Grade: 7 Location: Taif, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. This role is responsible for controlling and supervising personnel and resources pertinent to Oxygen Shop activities in support of the RSAF Typhoon maintenance policy in accordance with the relevant publications and the BAE Systems Maintenance Organisation Exposition. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES The organisation and administration of all personnel within the Oxygen Shop. The maintenance of Health and Safety including, the assessment, implementation and maintenance of COSSH and Risk assessments and the displaying of appropriate safety precautions and warning posters relating to the maintenance activities and handling within the shop area of operation. The maintenance of a planning system to efficiently utilise available manpower and equipment. Ensuring that the highest standard of cleanliness required for oxygen work areas and the immediate surround is maintained at all times Ensuring the integrity of the shop infrastructure through the timely submission of work service applications Provide the Depth management team with regular updates on manpower and work tasking, highlighting any situations affecting the operational capability of the shop Ensuring that all tool kits are maintained in accordance with the regulatory framework and ensuring that test equipment is maintained and calibrated within specified limits. Resolve technical problems related to fault diagnosis, inspection and repair of life support and oxygen system components and their breakdown parts. Undertake scheduled, unscheduled, diagnosis and repair maintenance tasks on Typhoon oxygen equipment as required, in accordance with approved technical data and procedures. Ensure that all servicing and maintenance activities are recorded in accordance with approved company or customer procedures utilising hardcopy or electronic systems as directed. In conjunction with the TSC ensure the control and compilation of ERCs and the maintenance of ESS records for all bay maintained components where appropriate are accurate and up to date. Ensure that maintenance activities are carried out efficiently to the appropriate standards within directed timescales and ensuring that management are advised in an appropriate manner when quality, cost or time requirements cannot be met. Ensuring all components within the Oxygen Shop are correctly stored and packaged and that all shop maintained items that are to leave the shop or move location are correctly prepared and packaged for transit Comply with BAES and RSAF aircraft maintenance procedures. Undertaking the responsibilities of the Mechanical & Electrical Superintendent in their absence. Carry out any other reasonable duties or requests as directed by their immediate line manager or depth management team. The supervision of the RSAF OJT and Consolidation training programme in support of Saudisation. RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential Must be educated to HNC level or recognised equivalent or have relevant experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training. Must have completed a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship or similar qualification in military aircraft airframe engineering and/or repair. Must have completed Aircraft Type Specific training on Third or Fourth Generation military fast jet aircraft in an Airframe discipline. Extensive post qualification experience of military fast jet maintenance support, at a certifying position within an operational military flying environment. Expensive experience in an Airframe discipline on a Fourth Generation military fast jet aircraft (may be concurrent with the above). A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of aircraft oxygen and environmental control systems. Previous Typhoon aircraft system knowledge would be advantageous Desirable Completion of formal training, manufacturers' courses or previous experience in the maintenance of aircraft oxygen and associated gaseous equipment systems desirable. Previous experience in aircraft component repair and overhaul including fault diagnosis, servicing and maintenance of assemblies and sub assemblies. Specific area of aircraft environmental control systems, oxygen and/or gaseous system components and breakdown parts highly desirable RECRUITMENT The post holder have the following background: Must have attained Supervisor/JNCO level working in a military aircraft maintenance environment. Excellent understanding of the principles and component parts of the various systems utilised on modern jet aircraft, experience of working with oxygen, environmental control and associated life support systems would be preferred. Experience of working in the aviation industry in a Gulf Coast Country and particularly within Saudi Arabia would be an advantage. A highly proactive individual with the ability to act upon their own initiative within the scope of their job to develop the oxygen shop operational capability. A conscientious approach to work and meticulous attention to detail is also required. A track record of meeting strict deadlines without compromising standards and quality.
