Job Description

Purpose:

Manage the technical service department and operations within the distribution centre, logistics, procurement and planning for the facility in Dubai, Middle East.

Key Responsibilities: (Key Tasks)

  • Coordinate and manage day to day drilling activities to provide technical support and solutions.
  • Remain in contact with customers to ensure continual smooth running of all operations pertaining to all FET drilling products.
  • Send and process pre-checklists for clients and ensure required inventory readiness.
  • Drive purchasing and logistics for on time delivery of service parts.
  • Assist Sales Managers in technical clarifications and attend sales meetings as required.
  • Oversee travel logistics for technician visits to client sites.
  • Oversee technician visas for country visits and track validity in country.
  • Manage regional drilling tool calibration validity and oversee coordination of re-calibrations as required.
  • Coordinate the movement of drilling calibration tools for scheduled work in the region and ensure the safe return to FET facility.
  • Routinely check clients upcoming service schedules and communicate with clients on required timing for onsite visit.
  • Coordinate with warehouse & logistics in providing packing/commercial invoice in preparation of shipment.
  • Oversee processing of service techs tickets, visa, accommodation, and other travel related matters and communicate with customer on confirmation of details.
  • Upon completion of service job, review technician reports for accuracy for submission of invoicing and log them into the service folder.
  • Work closely with finance on required closing of service work orders and service-related support documents required for invoicing.
  • Work in conjunction with the sales team to track and record service quotes, service PO's and update in accordance with revisions as per field service requirements. This includes calculating in detail what to quote the customer upon completion of a service job or equipment repair.
  • Assist with site surveys as needed in accordance with Company policy and standard operating procedures. Prepare completion reports for approval.
  • Manage drilling training programs for the Technicians and provide continuous in-house training for new and existing hires.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of service report sheets, orders and equipment repairs.
  • Organize the distribution of the drilling service team, updating the service department travel calendar accordingly.
  • Establish and manage the repair shop for drilling products.
  • Create, update, and close all MENA FPR sheets for drilling and liaise with the engineering team regarding all FPR related issues.
  • Follow FET's standard procedures for carrying out service jobs by ensuring correct approvals of the service tickets and oversee preparation of final service reports for submission.
  • Manage and compile final report on in-house equipment repair jobs for drilling and coordinate quotations for these repairs.
  • Travel across the region for any customer visits and technical support as required.
  • Work closely with service team to provide 24/7 phone/e-mail customer support for drilling equipment operating in the region and update customer support logs as well as instruct Service Coordinator to assign technical support requested between service engineers.
  • Provide/complete monthly reports for management on service revenue, issues, and forecasts.
  • Ensure tracking sheets and expenses are submitted on time each month for all drilling service engineers. Ensure all authorized paperwork is sent to Finance/Payroll in a timely manner, monthly.
  • Perform ongoing assessments on service engineer's performance.
  • Manage the day to day operational control of the business including the distribution centre, logistics and planning for the facility.
  • Understand and comply with all FET's policies and regulation on how to conduct business.
Job Requirements

Education / Qualifications:
  • Extensive previous rig experience
  • Good electrical, mechanical and hydraulics background
Technical Competencies:
  • Working knowledge of rig instrumentation software
  • Experienced in reading schematics and blue prints
  • Working Knowledge of mechanical/hydraulic drilling rig equipment
Key Skills:
  • Management mind set
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel)
  • Working knowledge of rig instrumentation software
  • Ready to travel at short notice
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Team leader personality

Experience:
  • Previous experience of time and people management
