Job Description

To involve supervising a team responsible for various activities related to mining. This includes conducting extensive research, performing complex design calculations, and accurately documenting all mining operations. You will also oversee a survey, evaluation, and drawing service that caters specifically to open pit mining operations. The aim of this service is to ensure that all mining activities follow relevant government regulations, policies, and industrial best practices

MAIN TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a.Responsible for the operation of the mine and related facilities by strategic and financial objectives.

b.Maintain a disciplined and productive workforce.

c.Manage the team in the day-to-day performance of their jobs

d.Ensures that the technical services department's milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets

e.Ensuring that high safety and environmental compliance standards are achieved as defined by the Health, Safety and Reclamation Code for Mines in Oman and best industrial practices and other relevant government regulations, permits and by the company's safety, health, and environmental policies.

f.Meeting commitments in tonnage and quality, waste removal, equipment, and workforce utilization.

g.Liaising with other departments to develop and implement strategies to improve efficiencies in all phases of the mining cycle.

h.Supporting technological change and operational advancements in mining processes and practices.

i. Providing quality training, support and guidelines to achieve high departmental performance standards and morale.

j.Ensuring that high standards of safety and environmental compliance are achieved.

k.Establishing a positive working relationship with Mine Engineering, Mine Maintenance, Mill and other departments.

l. Increasing team's abilities through developing personal career goals by training and working in areas they have not previously experienced.

m. Participate in improving the culture of safety within the Survey department.

Requirements

BSc. in Mining

Minimum of fifteen (15) years of open pit mine production experience.

Experience in managing a mining service contractor.

Having experience as an Expat is an advantage.

Good Knowledge and awareness of HSE.
