Typhoon Production Superintendent Grade: 6 Location: Taif, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. The purpose of this role is for controlling and managing personnel and resources pertinent to Forward Maintenance activities in support of the RSAF Typhoon Flying programme and generate aircraft to achieve the contracted Operational Ready (OR) Rates in accordance with best industry practice, BAE Systems procedures, the Maintenance Organisation Exposition and the RSAF Regulatory Framework. The job holder will supervise BAE Systems staff, Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) personnel as well as perform mentoring and consolidation development of these tradesmen in the Line (Forward) Maintenance environment JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Acting as Shift Lead in the absence of the Deputy Maintenance Managers absence (leave should de-conflicted with the Deputy Maintenance Managers). Managing and co-ordinating the maintenance effort on shift to meet the daily flying programme and to achieve the contracted OR rate. Management of day-to-day aircraft tool control. Ensuring that aircraft tool control for rectification and preventative maintenance is carried out in accordance with the Logisctics Management Regulations (LMR) and any appropriate local instructions. Ensuring that any lost or missing tools are reported to the Maintenance Manager immediately and appropriate action is undertaken. Ensuring that any temporary tool store operative is given an introductory brief on TORs, and ensuring that the temporary tool store operative signs for understanding the TORs. Ensure this operative is fully briefed that the Tool Store is to be locked at all times during diversions and temporary absences, unless an appropriate replacement is found. Ensuring that the flying programme is given absolute priority over aircraft fault rectification. Along with the Senior Support Engineer, carry out independent inspections of the aircraft shelters for husbandry standards. Ensure all aircraft spares are placed on demand at the correct priority. Liaise with Maintenance Operations Flight (MOF) to co-ordinate cannibalisations and ensure these are kept to the minimum in support of the aircraft flying and OR rate requirements. Liaise with the Senior Supervisors and Supervisors to prioritise the allocation of manpower to aircraft rectification and generation activities. Co-ordinate and liaise with the MOF and Integrated Logisctics Operations Cell (ILOC) to request external assistance and prioritise the requirements from external agencies to meet both the flying programme and the contracted OR rates. By Liasion with MOF, ensure that the aircraft are in the correct configuration for the flying programme. Monitor engineering practices across the Fwd Maint to maintain and promote high standards of airworthiness. Liaise with the Senior Supervisors, Supervisors and the DMC to understand any TRs or other queries that affect the aircraft fleet. Monitor the effectiveness of the End Of Runway (EOR) and Hit Teams in support of operations. Exercising appropriate Line Manager responsibilities covering discipline, administration, development, training and Safety, Health and Environment for company employees within the Fwd Maint. This includes PDR writing for appropriate staff (delegation may be required to Senior Supervisor level). Counterpart development of assigned RSAF personnel. Give support to the Heavy Rectification Team in identifying and prioritising the recovery of sustainment aircraft utilising available manpower and spares. Where the Fwd Maint team are unable to rectify or resolve a problem the PdSupt is to request (via MOF) the assistance of the resident Line Tech Support (LTS) team to assist and if necessary call on UK support through the LTS. Ensuring that individuals allocated to shift are properly authorised to carry out the various engineering tasks within their trade boundaries and a robust Quality Assurance culture is in place to measure and maintain quality of maintenance output. Ensuring that all maintenance issues affecting aircraft availability are identified, recorded and reported to the Fwd Maint Maintenance Management for resolution. Advising the Maintenance Manager and Senior Maintenance Manager of any threat to airworthiness. Managing the overall manpower on shift to ensure that, each of the 3 trades stays within the 'maximum away on leave' limit of 20% per trade, per shift and a balance of remaining skills is taken into account across the whole shift to ensure viability eg Tractor drivers for aircraft tow duties, etc. Ensuring that all personnel on their shift are dressed correctly at all times and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn when required. Preparing a daily maintenance hand-over brief for their counterpart at shift change-overs . Ensuring that all aircraft are properly blanked. The PdSupt is to closely monitor ESS when pilots are signing aircraft out and in particular ensure that all AIRCREW ACCEPTED FAULTS are signed for and accepted by the new pilot. Complying with any other reasonable management instruction that is deemed appropriate by the Fwd Maint line management or Senior Executive. Demonstrating certain behaviours in all the work undertaken and in interactions with other maintenance personnel in line with M&CA People Behaviours BAESKSA-ENG-MCA-GOV-005. Support and participate in the reporting of ALL Product Safety & Environmental "OCCURRENCES", promoting a "Just Culture". This provides for a working environment of trust where all employees, all of whom are professionals, each have a clear understanding of what standard of behaviour is considered acceptable or unacceptable. Promote and support the Salam Operations Quality Management System by understanding the requirements of AS9110. Promotion of customer focus RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential Have extensive proven post qualification practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR extensive experience on same aircraft type Extensive experience in a relevant management role. Typhoon Q Course and equipment specific training if required. Must have experience working knowledge of EASA Part 145 Leadership skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of engineering personnel. Qualified to HND (with military add on training applicable to trade) or national civilian / military equivalent and successful completion of a recognised national aircraft maintenance traineeship / apprenticeship National Aircraft Maintenance Qualifications as agreed by the Directorate. This includes, but is not limited to: Royal Saudi Air Force Aircraft Maintenance Qualifications (Skill Level 7) § UK Royal Air Force Aircraft Maintenance Qualifications Other Military Aircraft Maintenance Qualifications as agreed by the directorate EASA (Part 66) Aircraft Maintenance Qualifications (Cat A,B, or C) or GACA equivalent. BAE Systems Saudi Arabia Trained Aircraft Maintenance Personnel (SNTTP/ TSNTTP/FLMP). Applicants holding other nationally awarded Aircraft Maintenance Qualifications should consult the Directorate For non-native English speakers, English Language proficiency equivalent to (IELTS 4.5). Desirable Thorough understanding of company processes and procedures Broad aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge. Proven supervisory experience within the area of definition.

RECRUITMENT The post holder will have the following background: Currently working in an aircraft maintenance organisation conducting or supporting Line (Forward) Maintenance of military fast-jets (Typhoon preferred). Proven track record supervising Mechanical aircraft maintenance supervisors and technicians and associated resources at 'shift manager' level, maintaining military fast jet aircraft (Typhoon preferred). Excellent man management and people development competencies. Management experience with proven ability to manage junior engineering personnel. High level of interpersonal skill to co-ordinate a large number of diverse and complex activities and the ability to communicate, influence and direct the decision making process at all levels. Experience of multi-tasking to manage a diverse range of engineering and management activities. Demonstrable experience working as a Mechanical certifying supervisor and technician conducting Line (Forward) Maintenance on a busy, military operational flying unit. Fully conversant with European Aviation Safety Agency aircraft maintenance regulations or military equivalents such as UK MoD Defence Standard 05-130. Experience working in a NATO air force maintaining Mechanical systems on military aircraft. Experience as a mentor, coach or instructor in an aircraft maintenance environment. Experience conducting Line Maintenance of aircraft in a Gulf Coast Country.
