The Project Applications Engineer (PAE) is responsible for directing the Company's internal activities associated with supporting the sale of new turbomachinery packages for the Oil & Gas market throughout the EAME south region. The position involves working with Field Sales and a wide cross-section of other departments to plan, develop, and execute technical and commercial strategies necessary to successfully compete for new equipment business. Specific responsibilities include the review of customer specifications, preparation of comments and exceptions, selection and optimization of Solar's turbomachinery equipment offering, pricing custom features, coordination of Construction Services and Customer Services scope, and proposal preparation.
The PAE may also actively participate with Field Sales in technical / commercial negotiations with Solar's customers to capture business. Also, a primary responsibility is to provide complete project technical and commercial definition to Business Management and Project Engineering to enable efficient project execution.
Qualifications:
The position requires excellent technical knowledge of Solar's equipment, a high productivity level and sense of urgency, strong verbal and written communication skills, good business judgment, a willingness to travel, and a customer focused approach.
The successful candidate will have a track record showing a high level of customer sensitivity and the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet firm deadlines for a variety of tasks.

A minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is preferred. However, candidates with broad technical and practical experience across Solar's product ranges, and a proven track record in a similar role will be considered.
