Job Description
- Management of barge team, building a high performing offshore team
- Ensuring that all barge teams adhere to maritime safety protocols.
- Safety rules and policies - educate and enforce company rules, policies, and safety procedures for crew members.
- Communication - maintain strong communication within all levels and functions in the organization.
- Maintain positive work environment and company morale.
- Be a role model in projecting and applying the company\xe2\x80\x99s values (Productivity, Efficiency, Quality, Teamwork and Openness) and promote teamwork at all times.
- Coordinating - working with other managers to coordinate crews and equipment to maximize company efficiency. There will be a regular plan of operations.
- Work with the leadership team to develop long and short-range plans for the farm.
- Work closely with the Farm Manager and The Onshore Production Manager to meet overall farm objectives.
- Planning of off-shore operations to ensure all oysters are maintained and cleaned as per monthly schedule.
- Scheduling of daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of floatation of all longlines.
- Tumbling \xe2\x80\x93 Ensure that oysters are handled as per good practice to decrease stress, all predators are removed and stocked back into structural sound enclosures.
- Daily management of offshore schedule to decreases overtime incurred due to delays in oyster deliveries to land based facility
- Daily management of offshore schedule to decrease the time oysters spend out of the water and general decrease in stress incurred by offshore handling.
- Evaluation and optimization of off-shore production procedures and systems to decrease operational cost and increase survival.
- Stock control of biological asset on the two farm plots by keeping record of movement of batches and lanterns between work areas and longlines.
- Daily updates and reconciliation of biological asset movement on oyster farming software.
- Weekly reporting on longline maintenance and biological asset movements.
- Conducting and reporting on daily and weekly quality spot checks via photo library, oyster farming software.
- Supervise collection of production data (growth, survival, fouling, predation etc) on barges, weekly interpreting, and reporting on said.
- Design and execution of R&D projects related to optimization of offshore operations and infrastructure.
- Ensure the vessels and equipment on vessels are always in good working order, monitor equipment and report any maintenance requirements.
- Monitor running hours of all outboard engines and barge generators and communicate to Farm Manager and maintenance team when these items need to be serviced.
- Stock control of all liquid assets and consumables associated with off-shore operations
