About this role
  • To ensure the safe, cost effective, environmentally compliant and effective operational performance and integrity of the appointed Offshore Installation. Manage the facilities and personnel in order to deliver hydrocarbon exports in accordance with Industry and Company mandated standards and requirements. Appointed as the primary contact for the assigned Installation and accountable for all activities on the asset. Act as the key contact and liaison with Well Intervention and Well Operations contracted personnel. Lead, and coordinate the resources of the Offshore Leadership Team and Health Safety Environment Advisors/Medics;
  • Lead the Health, Safety and Welfare of all personnel within the assigned Offshore Complex and remote wellhead platforms by;
  • The maintenance and continuous improvement of safe working environments and the enforcement and reinforcement of safe and effective working practices;
  • The communication and subsequent implementation of any new, or changes to Company and/or statutory safety standards to all concerned Installation personnel;
  • On-going development and maintenance of a robust health, safety and environmental awareness culture throughout all levels of the offshore workforce;
  • Assurance that all necessary safety systems and equipment is available and fit for purpose at all \xc3\x97
  • Lead the Offshore Leadership Team, Installation group safety meetings, emergency response management and liaison with Incident Manager during an incident. Maintain excellent communications between Offshore and Onshore team members including personnel based in the main office building and production Jebel Ali Supply Base. Ensure the Field manager Is updated on day-to-day activities, situations and personnel issues in a timely basis;
  • Understand and be familiar with all installation processes and work activities. Review plans and schedules and authorize and approve the work being executed on the Installation, within the complex and remote wellhead platforms limits. Provide technical expertise and assistance in problem solving activities;
  • Co-ordinate all relevant activities to ensure a safe, efficient and effective shutdown or start-up of the Installation, systems, and/or equipment. Investigate and determine the cause(s) of unplanned shutdowns and establish the possibility and means of preventing recurrence;
  • Demonstrate a sound working knowledge of wells, satellites, facilities separation, compression and water-flood facilities. Assume a field leadership role accountable for all areas. Identify and recommend offshore facilities improvement opportunities;
  • Maintain a good knowledge of oil stock, khazzans metering and marine assets (Fateh Installation- Offshore Installation Manager);
  • Authorize Hot Work Permits and confined space/vessel entry work and ensure safety critical duties and tasks are undertaken only by competent personnel;
  • Fulfil the duties of Permit to Work Authorizer and ensure adherence by ail personnel to the Company\'s Safe System of Work and Permit to Work system thorough Task Risk Assessments;
  • Understand and have a detailed knowledge of the Company\xe2\x80\x99s Emergency Response Procedures. Perform emergency response duties and tasks as defined in the Company\'s Emergency Response Procedures Manual, the Installation Safety Case and as required by law;
  • Apply Crisis Management tools and techniques to: Evaluate situations and anticipate needs; Maintain communications; Delegate activities to those most suited to deal with them; Recognize and deal with stress in self and others;
  • Conduct safety drills and musters and ensure all Installation personnel are familiar with and understand the relevant safety equipment and procedures;
  • Manage the Safety Committee and provide all necessary support to elected representatives in carrying out their duties;
  • Conduct and/or assist in accident and/or incident investigations in accordance with Company and statutory procedures, making appropriate recommendations for action, implementing accepted and approved recommendations and monitoring effect of change(s). Complete and forward relevant reports in a timely manner to the predetermined personnel. Set \xe2\x80\x9cTerms of reference\xe2\x80\x9d for incident investigation and nominate team members;
  • Monitor and report Installation performance against plan and Company Key Performance Indicators (KPls);
  • Ensure that all offshore complex reporting functions are executed in an accurate, thorough and timely manner;
  • Implement a programme of inspections and audits to ensure all Company and statutory safety standards are being adhered to;
  • Implement a process of loss prevention and control to meet Company business needs and targets;
  • Identify and investigate causes of adverse performance and assist in identifying appropriate corrective action(s);
  • Analyze performance reports to identify potential problems and opportunities for improvement;
  • Encourage and facilitate communication and effective teamwork between offshore and onshore teams;
  • Support the identification of any necessary changes in personnel performance or development and any champion any subsequent interventions when necessary. Ensure requests for additional resources are justified on an added value or operationally necessary basis;
  • Participate in competence assessment of Production Operations personnel. Ensure an accurate portfolio is maintained to demonstrate the competency of offshore personnel to undertake their assigned duties, activities and tasks. Mentor and develop personnel in line with Company KPl\xe2\x80\x99s;
  • Prepare initial budget costing for Installation operating expenses. Monitor performance against budget and ensure causes of budget variances are identified and appropriate corrective action taken;
  • Adhere to budget planning, preparation and procedure control through the 7 (seven) day, 28 (twenty-eight) day and 90 (ninety) day plans. Prioritize activities based on safety and critical to production;
  • Review all proposed facility changes, alterations and/or upgrades and provide the relevant feedback regarding offshore complex impacts and/or considerations;
  • Review all change execution plans and identify offshore complex requirements to coordinate the successful implementation of the changes authorized within the scheduled time period, whilst minimizing the impact to the facility safety, operability and productivity.



What you need to bring
  • Degree or Diploma in Science, Engineering or High school qualification (technical subjects);
  • Management of Major Emergencies/Crisis Management Certification (Mandatory requirement);
  • 15+ years of experience in Offshore Operations/Maintenance/Engineering;
  • Sound technical knowledge of the facilities, systems, equipment and processes;
  • Complete knowledge of the facility support service requirements as well as technical knowledge regarding the deliverability of the service;
  • Strong HSE background and regulatory knowledge regarding the implementation and/or compliance with the various policies and standards;
  • Awareness of legislative, statutory requirements relevant to the Installation;
  • Experience in managing a large workforce of 200 (two hundred) + personnel;
  • Experience in managing multifunctional groups and multi-national teams;
  • Strong leadership, management and decision-making skills;
  • Strong team player and networking skills;
  • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines;
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills;
  • Good presentation skills \xe2\x80\x94 ability to address a large work force;
  • Good computer skills in MS office.
