NVOCC Country Manager Ahmedabad Oceanic Resources International is working on a number of exciting expansion projects globally. In the India sub-continent we are looking to add to a regional freight forwarder and NVOCC's stand-out leadership team to help them infiltrate the local market and build brand awareness. We are currently interviewing for anNVOCC Country Manager to be based in Ahmedabad. Our client initially began its journey as a local Forwarder providing logistics services out of Mundra Port. However, over time their portfolio of services quickly grew to encompass not just global sea and air forwarding but also to include extended services like Warehousing, Custom Broking, Handling of Project Cargo, NVOCC, 3PL Logistics, Export/Import Consolidation, Air cargo and to offering both local and international Relocation services. The company now holds branches in many major India cities and ports, and in GCC and Africa with its Ahmedabad office being its global headquarters. They are proud to now offer their customers warehousing facilities and transport equipment to handle any kind of cargo independently. This, in turn, has helped establish the company's reputation as one of the top relocation companies in India. From a Forwarding / Liner background and working as part of a successful team, you will lead by example, maintaining and growing business volume and profitability in the organisation whilst driving productivity and efficiency gains. Main duties and responsibilities

  • The Primary function of the role is being responsible for the management and direction of all NVOCC sales and business development activities in India sub continent. This includes acquisition of new customers and further development of existing customers in the country using all available sales resources.
  • Responsible for Commercial team strategy to ensure monthly/ annual volume and monetary targets are met, as set by CEO.
  • Involved in research and development into new revenue streams, products and solutions.
  • Overseeing and managing all business development, trade lane development, and account management activities.
  • Functional reporting and development of India NVOCC Sales Team.
  • Personally acquire and manage a portfolio of key 'house' accounts to maintain personal set new business / volume targets as set by CEO.
  • Act as an escalation point for the client base where necessary.
  • Monitor clients fall off and gain on a monthly basis and take appropriate action.
  • Visit key and vulnerable clients.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly pipeline, revenue and GP reports to CEO in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain close communication with key customers and operational management to assure uniform understanding of customer expectations relative to operational solutions, timeline, costs, results.
  • Responsible for regular appraisals/ performance reviews and performance measurement of commercial Team.
  • Strong relationships with slot operators / shipping lines and able to assist with procurement of competitive rates and service offerings.
  • Allocating and managing sales resources optimally.
  • Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.
  • Person specifications:
  • Master's in Business or similar qualification preferred
  • At least 5+ years' experience in General/ Sales Management position within the NVOCC Liner sales market
  • Excellent leadership skills with unobstructed vision, motivational skills and commitment to company goals.
  • Currently living in or happy to relocate to Ahmedabad.
  • Knowledge of local market and competitors
  • 5+ years in sales within NVOCC Liner business (preferable in Multinational environment)
  • Direct exposure to FCL business between Mundra Port to/from Jebel Ali Port UAE beneficial
  • Strong relationships with agents/ shipping lines and able to procure competitive rates.
  • Commercial acumen and demonstrated results/ track record of achieving both team and individual sales targets of min 5 x salary GP a month
  • IT literate with excellent understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Articulate and effective communication skills in English; both verbal and written
  • Own transport and ability to travel nationally and internationally as and when required
  • Must have India Driving Licence and Vehicle as will involve client and sales visits
Package
  • Position is permanent and full-time.
  • Reporting to business owners and based from/ reporting back to the Ahmedabad offices.
