About the job Nursery Teacher (FS1/FS2)

Our client is a Montessori school, first established in 1993. They have built and invested in nurseries and schools across the globe, starting with the UK and the UAE.

We are looking for a Nursery Teacher. You will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for young children, typically between the ages of 2 and 5 years old.

As a Nursery Teacher, your primary role is to facilitate early childhood development through age-appropriate activities, play, and structured lessons. You will play a crucial role in fostering the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of each child.

Responsibilities:
  • Montessori Curriculum Implementation: Plan and deliver Montessori-inspired lessons and activities that promote the main areas of activities, which encompass the six areas of learning and development identified and accepted in the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), including: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language & Literature, Mathematics, Culture, Arts & Crafts, Music, and Physical Activities.
  • Individualized Learning: Observe and assess each child\'s unique strengths, interests, and developmental progress. Tailor lessons and activities to meet the specific needs of individual children, allowing them to learn at their own pace.
  • Classroom Environment: Create an organized, stimulating, and inviting classroom environment that encourages exploration, order, and a sense of belonging for the children.
  • Freedom within Limits: Emphasize the importance of freedom within set limits, allowing children to make choices and take responsibility for their learning and behavior.
  • Role as a Guide: Act as a facilitator and guide, providing support and encouragement while allowing children to discover knowledge and develop critical thinking skills independently.
  • Communication with Parents: Maintain open and regular communication with parents or guardians, sharing insights into their child\'s progress, achievements, and areas for growth.
  • Classroom Management: Promote positive behavior and conflict resolution strategies, fostering a harmonious and respectful classroom community.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with Montessori education principles and attend workshops or training sessions to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
  • A relevant early childhood education qualification is beneficial.
  • At least 4 years of experience working as a Montessori teacher or similar in a nursery or preschool setting is highly desirable. And at least 1 to 2 years of experience should be gained in a UAE school setting.
  • Passion for Montessori Education: A deep understanding and belief in the Montessori philosophy and its positive impact on children\'s development.
  • Patience and Empathy: The ability to empathize with young children and create a nurturing and supportive environment for their growth.
  • Strong Observational Skills: The capability to observe children\'s behavior, interests, and progress to adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Excellent Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and colleagues.
