This role focuses on special projects, network improvements, emergency response engineering, and optimization initiatives that fall outside day-to-day (BAU) maintenance. The position ensures safe, efficient, and sustainable sewage and drainage network operation & maintenance in compliance with regulatory standards and asset management strategies.
ROLES & RESPOSIBILITIES:
Lead the planning, design, and execution of non-routine maintenance works, including network rehabilitation, major blockage removal, critical asset interventions, and flood mitigation measures.
Assess and resolve complex operational challenges that cannot be addressed by routine O&M teams.
Conduct root cause analysis for recurring or major network failures and recommend permanent corrective actions.
Oversee and support emergency response activities, including sewer collapses, overflows, or storm event impacts.
Review CCTV surveys, hydraulic assessments, and flow monitoring data to identify network deficiencies.
Develop method statements, risk assessments, and contingency plans for specialized O&M works.
Manage non-BAU O&M projects from concept to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure effective project execution.
Review technical submittals, work permits, and contractor performance reports.
Support capital planning and asset renewal programs by providing data and engineering insight from field operations.
Ensure all work complies with health, safety, environmental (HSE), and regulatory requirements.
Promote best practices in confined space entry, traffic management, and public safety.
Maintain accurate documentation, work orders, and as-built records.
Identify and implement opportunities for network performance improvement, energy reduction, and asset life extension.
Support digital transformation initiatives, such as smart monitoring, GIS integration, and predictive maintenance tools.
Prepare technical reports, dashboards, and recommendations for management decision-making.
Experience:
Minimum 5-8 years of experience in drainage and sewage network operations and maintenance.
Competencies:
Strong understanding of sewer and drainage network design and operation principles.
Knowledge of O&M procedures, asset management systems (CMMS), and condition assessment techniques.
Proficiency with GIS, AutoCAD, hydraulic modeling software.
Familiarity with environmental compliance standards and HSE protocols.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in any
Engineering Course
or relevant experience.
